    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

There are lots of places that are known by names in other languages that include a geographic feature and people come to learn what they mean. Côte d'Azur, Mont-Royal, Rio de Janeiro... the list goes on. I for one learned that Minising is the Ojibwe word for "island" or "at the island" through...

This seems like an appropriate time to use an MZO?

Obviously graffiti is often annoying and sometimes beautiful but it's also present in pretty much every city in the world. I think some of you are a little overly obsessed.

Counterpoint: it does sound fun and we should do that.

    Richmond Hill 187-189 Vogell Road | 127.05m | 39s | Mon Sheong | ZO1

Pretty isolated place for so many seniors to live. Hopefully the wider site is developed with parks, walkable shopping and other amenities folks can access without a car. Otherwise you're gonna have a lot of restless seniors getting into cars.

    Toronto McCleary District | ?m | ?s | CreateTO | DTAH

It would make sense as it's a larger site (in terms of developable land) and slightly closer to East Harbour station.

    Toronto East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

Can you elaborate on that? I know East Harbour Station and the various transit connections (Ontario Line, GO Expansion) are being built by Metrolinx, but is the land-use being dictated by the Province as well?

At the RESA consultation meeting it was pointed out that it's about 20% owned by the city and the rest is owned by the feds. I assume that's the share of the equity as opposed to square footage, but I'm not sure.

From my read of the report, it seems like staff are recommending going along with the minimum RESA requirements but rejecting PortsToronto’s ask to extend the agreement from 2033 to 2073 until a broader airport master plan can be updated, along with robust public consultation.

Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport | ?m | ?s | Ports Toronto | Arup

I attended the meeting. The dominant sentiment from the crowd was "Close the airport, don't let this safety requirement be a backdoor way for PortsToronto to re-open the tripartite agreement and extend their lease, expand their operations or bring in jets." People wanted city council to consider...

    Toronto 1901 Eglinton Avenue West | 106.15m | 32s | Clifton Blake | Studio JCI

Height and massing look perfectly fine to my untrained eye, Northern Light's concern about shadows and the "overbearing" slab notwithstanding. Bigger concern to me is at street level where the block is going from 10 retail units down to 2. And the walls are all floor-to-ceiling glass. Not a very...

    Toronto 2475 Dundas Street West | 109.67m | 29s | Fairway | BDP Quadrangle

Gord is a progressive on paper, but he knows that his primary constituency is Roncy/High Park home owners. He is the manifestation of old school Jane Jacobs/NDP housing and planning policies. Don't think he really believes in market/supply solutions to the housing crisis. He is a good guy and...

Sounds like you're not a very rugged individual if you can't handle a little rain. Maybe unrestrained capitalism isn't for you.

Dundas West/ Bloor Mobility Hub +interconnected hub network (Metrolinx)

Another reason an entrance in Crossways would be great would be to divert some of the foot traffic from the current entrance that involves crossing the streetcar entrance and squeezing onto the narrow sidewalk on Dundas. This intersection is so crowded with students from the high school other...

The Kill Bill sirens are sounding off in Gord Perks' brain right now.

Did anybody attend this meeting or have a sense of what was discussed? I was out of town and couldn't make it.

Probably! But why settle for cheaper?? Imagine a seamless streetcar ride from Union, Exhibition or Bathurst, crossing over the western gap, gazing over the harbour and arriving at an incredible destination on the island, magically transported from the city?? It's of course aspirational, but we...
