That 4 year old will likely be 5 by then as they aren't opening the park until next summer. Seems a little ridiculous but the wet side of the berm hasn't been finished and they will be working on it through the fall and winter.

    Toronto River City Condos Phases 1 & 2 | ?m | 16s | Urban Capital | ZAS Architects

I noticed that the Phase 1 bridge between the tall building on King E and the River St. building is under construction with structural steel work already connecting the two buildings. you can see the underside of the bridge in the render on http://rivercitytoronto.com/phase1.php?page=2

Here are some shots from tonight. Detour was causing quite a lot of confusion with people pulling u-turns back down King in confusion. Don't think they did a good job on the signing of this one. looking north at the the now closed confluence of bayview/king/river/queen across the...

    Toronto Clear Spirit | 131.36m | 40s | Cityscape | a—A

That is going to be the Transit Mall (think bus station) for the Pan Am Village. Presumably temporary and will be converted to residential sometime after the games.

East Bayfront: Bayside (Waterfront Toronto/Hines/Tridel, Pelli Clark Pelli et al)

presumably servicing involves water service, sewers, hydro conduits, communications, etc - all the stuff that doesn't exist there now or at least not in the form that will service all the buildings and residents as planned.

TTC: Cherry Street reconstruction and streetcar trackage (City of Toronto/TTC, U/C)

While I have a hard time believing this will happen under the current council, I should note that the city has been digging down at the northwest corners of cherry and eastern as well as cherry and front both corners where the road is supposed to be shifted over on top of.

Really like that they are stripping the probably 25 coats of paint on the facades of 555/7? King East on the south side between the new condos - I think it will really improve the streetscape in the immediate area.

Yes I went past the old Infinity dealership yesterday and the lot is filled Volvo's now so they are fully moved in. The signage is essentially tarps hung from the roof at this point. Thrilled if the BGM building is turned into that Spa. Replacing the current German air raid shelter look with...

Apparently the Infinity Dealership at 43 Eastern is closed/closing and they are opening up a Infinity Boutique at 549 King East - the Corktown District condo. I gather its a temporary thing but not really sure what the story is. Another chapter in the ongoing first parliament land swap shenanigans.

Ate at Gilead last night, second time this year. Amazing food and a nice list of Niagara wines but the part that l like the most - surprisingly inexpensive considering the quality. Highly recommended.

    Captain John's Restaurant (1975-2012)

To be fair that isn't one the Capt John's fine entre's but rather a selection of the buffet table. My wife picked off the items that looked the least repulsive and as you can see didn't do much more than poke it around. I made sure to eat before I went to the ceremony so I just piled a plate...

    Captain John's Restaurant (1975-2012)

I found the photoset of that wonderful evening. I won't put the pics of the wedding itself but here are some of the pics of the pictures posted on the upper deck. Most have the capt in his heyday. As well there is a pic of the food as well as one of the capt himself presiding over the...

    Captain John's Restaurant (1975-2012)

I much enjoyed reading those trip advisor reviews until I came to the post that was written by my wife advising all to stay away. I had clearly blocked all memory of visiting this place for a wedding several years back. I remember now begging my wife not to go - we escaped w/o contracting...

Corktown District (King & Sumach, Streetcar, to 6s, Quadrangle)

The thing that astounds me with these buildings is the inability off Streetcar to finish the job. That last bit of brick on the south side 52 Sumach has been in that state for weeks. The unfinished elements on the front of the building have been that way for months. The same for the open front...

Corktown District (King & Sumach, Streetcar, to 6s, Quadrangle)

I wonder if Trinity Lofts is that used car dealer at Trinity and Eastern. I seem to remember that there was a planning application for a condo on the land a year or two back that fell through with the recession.

    Toronto Sync Lofts Condos | ?m | 8s | Streetcar | TACT Architecture

Well thank god that one didn't go forward. Taking a glance at the application document I was reminded of University Plaza - I am sure they will rework it considerably if not dump those plans. Nonetheless, Streetcar still has a lot of work ahead of it with the Phase 2 building of Corktown...

Happy Halloween From The Little Humans

The little Tinkerbell in the front row of that last picture is my little one. Strange to go to Urbantoronto and see my little girl on the header picture. They all looked so cute but so cold.
