Not sure if this is the right thread but the Candian Tire just west of this proposal has closed and the gas bar demolished. I do recall there being a development proposal for the Can Tire land, just not sure if it was included in the above plans.

Bally's departed Canada about 5 years ago. I'd be surprised that they intend to return. I'd also be surprised that they're not bound by a non-compete provision when they sold their Canadian operation to Goodlife.

Regarding above-ground parking, could they not build 2-3 storeys of commercial at grade and then the parking on top of that? See Ryerson's business school as an example - Canadian Tire at grade and parking on top.

I walked by there earlier this week and noticed the reappearance of the amateurish and handwritten "For Lease" sign affixed to 205Yonge. I assumed that any plans for that building had died.

It's even more ridiculous than that. Ford ratted out city employees to the CRA. City employees, even those who did not use the parking, had their taxes reassessed. Then city council (including Rob Ford) voted in favour of the city picking up the tab. This cost the city $millions.

Presumtious? Not at all. That's the actual amount so far that the province is clawing back from the city. Way to go Rob!
