    Toronto Crosstown Place | 47.55m | 9s | Metrus | Core Architects

One of my favourite buildings (or at least the part above the base/podium). It always looks stunning regardless of the lighting and clouds

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Indeed, one of the best ads for the Lakeshore West GO is watching the trains zip by while stopped in traffic. Same would be true if the Finch W (and surface Eg Crosstown) lines were faster than the cars!

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Is Ford still so angry that he didn't become mayor that he wants to crap on Toronto as much as he can? Or at least on the Torontonians that he perceives did not vote for him? (Cyclists, lovers of OSC, OP...). I'm only half kidding here

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

So, this didn't require a photo op. But of course they needed to do one.

    Toronto 1837 Bayview | 100.6m | 27s | Gupta | Arcadis

Demo is done, trees have been cut down along Bayview, and TPZ has been fenced off at the north end of the site (Broadway). Photos from this morning.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I vote for a larger font. Approaching my mid 50's (ack!), I like being able to read without fumbling for or adjusting glasses

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Anecdote time: the most beaten up my legs have ever felt after a marathon (I've done 20-ish races) was in Chicago, where the streets are mostly concrete. All the others have been mostly asphalt. That said, I don't notice any difference for lower effort training runs (which can be 35+ km). And...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

As a runner, I will step into the bike lanes for short periods (like 10-15m) if I need to pass pedestrians on the sidewalk. I only do this when I'm running against traffic, so I know I'm not going to step in front of a cyclist. I think that's ok. I don't care for runners using the bike lanes as...

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Please construe my "wow" reaction as OMFG, these guys love to spend money unwisely.

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

I disagree with the recriminalization/ forced incarceration. Unfortunately, we don't want to do the hard things to help these people. Treatment, housing, employment, etc are all necessary, as is safe consumption for those with addictions. Unfortunately, this is a complex problem that has...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

So a friend just broke his collar bone at the St George and Bloor "bump". I don't know all details, but he's an experienced cyclist. I hope this bump gets fixed, but really, we shouldn't have people getting hurt to show some new infrastructure isn't done right. I know this is new-ish to Toronto...

    Toronto Queen & Ashbridge | 60.15m | 17s | Context Development | Teeple Architects

I ran buy it earlier and thought the same thing about the finish. This really is a set of buildings that look better without my glasses on/not up close

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

A non AC pilot I follow was negative about the deal. I'm curious to see how the AC pilots react to it (as they are the ones that would vote).

TTC: Electric and alternative fuel buses

I really hate the current batch of busses where the rear doors open inward and take away 4 people's worth of standing room. Other than encouraging people not to stand in the doorway, they're terrible. Glad to hear they're different in the new busses.

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

    I hate this so much.

    2024 United States presidential election

This reminds me of this Anyway, I didn't watch any of the debate last night. I don't understand how anyone can consider this a contest for President!

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

The story mentions the plant's contract was recently extended to 2034. Hopefully the contract will not be renewed, and tower construction can proceed then. It may depend which party rules in Ontario when it's time to renew the contract!

    Toronto Sunnybrook Plaza Redevelopment | 56.92m | 16s | RioCan | Turner Fleischer

Exciting update! They're paving the site. Yes, the whole thing! I guess they won't be building here anytime soon.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Agreed, but I think it will depend what the contract with Crosslink allows them to do

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

It looks like the answer to "what are they building south of the OSC site in ET Seaton park?" is a new hydro pylon. (Was it @Hawk that suggested that earlier?)
