Exactly. No tenant is going to foot the bill for renoing a decaying office building that hasn't had any TLC since well before Pinnacle bought the property (since the Star was going broke) to have to move out in less than 10 years. And Pinnacle isn't going to foot the bill to spruce up the place...

For now. How many height increases will they submit for between now and when the two towers top off?

The more I read (thanks @Northern Light !) the more I like what I'm seeing. Though..... 1) Office market is rebounding - sad to see so much backwards thinking amongst developers and the city 2) There's no real way to phase this is there? Either it gets built as one, or it doesn't get built at...

If only they had this foresight in the initial planning phases - this could have been a “The Well” level of development….shame they didn’t take advantage.

The stump on the south west corner of phase 1 seems to be rising again after many weeks of no increase in height….taken this morning.

Taken today - looks like infill underway starting with the new East/West street between Empire and Pinnacle Lakeside Phase 2.

Lol. I imagine this is more up RBC’s alley than TD’s with their large presence in Waterpark Place and if they kept the HSBC office space on York next to Ice. Even CIBC makes sense given proximity to CIBC Square…

Even at “The One” - now “One Bloor West”, Tridel is essentially changing floor plans and value-engineering so my guess is Pinnacle will take same approach…

Curious though if inflation in utility connection charges, development fees, even the final finishes qualify based on that clause? My guess is yes based on this story (apologies if sharing this link violates any rules I’m not aware of): CBC Story
