    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

I am not totally familiar with the 407 contract, how ever I assume any contract can be broken.....for a price. I'm also surprised there is no opportunities for renegotiation or updates within that 99 year lease period.

News on retail chains (was: New Mall Retail)

Having shopped at both retailers I find that Costco caters more to end consumer while Wholesale Club still offers more business products. Wholesale Club sells things like takeout trays, large quantitates of Ice Cream sundae syrup, cases of produce etc., all what a restaurant might buy, not...

    VIA Rail

I've always wondered for a Government/Party so big into climate change and helping the environment why they haven't announced a "trains to everywhere!' policy. One would think that would be an easy win for them, however it seams they border on just wanting to get rid of VIA altogether!

    Ontario Northland/Northern Ontario Transportation

I agree. Just looking at Google satellite view, in my opinion, it looks like it would be reasonably easy to cross that lake with a causeway/bridge engineered solution. Even rerouting the ROW around the lakeshore should be possible.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

I do take issue with certain people with attitudes like "driving a personal vehicle is evil" while also having opinions that there is not enough population to run rail or bus service to X. That seems to suggest that if you live in small town/minor city Ontario, your only freedom to travel is to...

The crop of your photo was unintentional I'm sure, but had to laugh at "STATION BUSTER" sign!

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

This is one thing that seems to escape everyone who complains about the high tolls on the 407. The tolls are set to keep traffic volumes low and lets the Highway operate at posted speed for most of the time. Significantly lowering the toll rate will dramatically raise traffic volumes, then you...

    General railway discussions

It's small in length and parallels the Kingston Sub, but there was the construction of the GO sub in Durham region in the 80's I believe

    Durham Region Transit / Pulse

I assume the Ruston GO Stn. is Ritson GO Stn aka the former Knob Hill Farms property.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I am speculating, but I believe the tunnel in Guelph might be locked outside of train times due to a number of safety and security incidents there lately.

Well the Sheppard stubway has to be extended to somewhere.

This render makes the city look only about 10 minutes away on the Horizon. 😂 Or maybe Lindsay has urbanized a lot since my last visit.

In regards to the main floor tenet, will it be a not so secret secret until opening and a curtain is pulled back revealing whomever will be occupying the space, or will there will be some point during construction that a "Coming Soon" sign will be placed in the window?

That's an interesting unearthing. I wonder what that pile might be?

It irks me to no end that the concrete of that new abutment has likely not even cured yet, and there is already graffiti tags on it.

That actually describes GO's current reserved parking program, at least pre Covid.
