    Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 1) | 231m | 70s | Menkes | a—A

The mural itself is part of the Whaling Wall series by US artist and conservationist Robert Wyland. http://www.wylandfoundation.org/community.php?subsection=wyland_walls

    Toronto eCondos | 195.67m | 58s | Bazis | Rosario Varacalli

This turned out quite well- much like the harbour plaza towers. Frankly it's just nice to see a residential tower not overwhelmed with glass balconies. I've been by here a few times and haven't heard any 'singing' but perhaps it wasn't windy enough to generate much noise. Hopefully they can fix...

    Toronto Grid Condos | 157.88m | 50s | CentreCourt | IBI Group

I much preferred the older design of the tower but the lack of balconies is refreshing, and the grid pattern still makes for a more robust looking building. The podium seems awkward and top-heavy. It may have looked better if they had carried the top portion of the podium down to the street, or...

    Toronto MEC Queen Street (Mountain Equipment Coop) | 21.03m | 3s | Parallax | Sweeny &Co

It could be worse when I consider the MEC brick box they erected down the road from me on Sheppard E. But I do admit I was expecting more here considering the location on a dynamic downtown street- the design does seem equally suited to a suburban outlet. It's brick at least and hopefully they...

    Toronto Richmond Adelaide Centre: 120 & 130 Adelaide West Recladding | 136.85m | 35s | Oxford Properties | WZMH

Unfortunately there is nothing of architectural interest in the area to reflect. Perhaps had they done this with the Simpson tower in the very least it might have mirrored the facade of Old City Hall.

This is just painful. Still one of the more pleasant side streets downtown however.

The Victory silos have heritage designation. It looks like they're being incorporated into the redevelopment - http://www.victorysiloscondos.com/

Toronto King Portland Centre and Kingly Condos | 57.6m | 15s | Allied | Hariri Pontarini

Love the attention to detail, brickwork and smooth curved glass, easily one of my favorite projects in Toronto. More of this and less skinny spandrelized point towers would be a very welcome change.

    Toronto 87 Peter | 156.05m | 49s | Menkes | Core Architects

I'm not sure why so many are complaining- it's clearly one of the more handsome loading docks in this city.

Would love to live along the Lachine Canal, the area has changed dramatically.

Unfortunately they also mask the cross bracing which is an interesting part of the design.

From stylish to completely utilitarian- they really didn't bother at all.

    Toronto The Britt Condos | 142.03m | 41s | Lanterra | Arcadis

I remember being really surprised at how banal and lifeless things were along Bay in the 90's. That said I think it has actually improved a fair bit since then. In addition to Sick Kids I think notable improvements include the Burano and Murano towers, especially the restoration of the podium...

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

Ferries, tugs and a captured U-boat (UC-97) are docked where there are now cars and condos. Great image.

    Toronto Massey Tower Condos | 206.95m | 60s | MOD Developments | Hariri Pontarini

There are a few surprising lots in that area. I'm wondering if the parking lot next to The Senator restaurant will be developed soon- that must be gold. East of the square is definitely an area that is improving.

    Toronto Royal Ontario Museum | ?m | ?s | Daniel Libeskind

Looks great, as does the western facade. Maybe more stylized railings or a more polished finish like brass would have looked better: source Otherwise a big improvement, and nice to have that entrance back.

On a more positive note, such main streets as Yonge, Bloor and University are pretty much wire free. Extending this to King and Queen would certainly improve things, although the streetcar wires are likely a permanent fixture. www.canadianaconnection.com University Ave. looks gloriously...
