    Toronto Emerald Park Condos | 128.92m | 40s | Bazis | Rosario Varacalli

Is that a problem with Bazis or TMG? Or the architect? The developer is inexperienced with a project like this for sure, but it ultimately lies with the builder and architect and Engineers to ensure the building is built up to code. I also believe this is TMG’s first experience in a project...

    Toronto Beacon Condos | 124.66m | 35s | Sorbara | Wallman Architects

Might have to do with max glazing % requirements in the code.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

We have snow and -20c weather in Canada. Not everyone will want to bike under those conditions and there really is no way to take steps to fix that.

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

I think the people of Scarborough is partly at blame here. One has to think hard about what they demand for because if one’s demands are too far fetched from what’s reasonable, then nothing usually gets done. 1. Scarborough demanded a subway extension of line 4 when a LRT could have done the...

    Toronto Emerald Park Condos | 128.92m | 40s | Bazis | Rosario Varacalli

I think this is a pretty wonderful project. The kinks will get fixed in time, but the building is distinctive, the shopping is diverse.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Yes everyone would always want to regulate others so they can enjoy increased freedom. They’re natural human tendencies. The key is the find a fair and effective balance. Youre right in your points, and I would also be right in saying that those who don’t drive push for the war on cars. Always...

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Seems you’re very passionate about this topic. So I will agree to disagree wit I think it’s best to agree to disagree.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

Do Police hand out speeding tickets? Do they hand out tickets to people who start cross when the hand flashes red? Do cyclists need to pass a G1 drivers license to learn traffic laws before operating their vehicle on the motorway? I thought my point is clear.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

And how many people start crossing when the hands flash red? How many start to move the second the other direction turns red before their light turns green? How many dash infront of moving vehicles mid block? How many cyclists pass between cars at a red light and overtake right turn cars on the...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

ROW for extra bus lanes do exist. The 401 has large shoulders along its entire stretch. A bus bypass system like what’s implemented on the DVP will work very well. In fact a Yorkdale, Oriole GO, Don Mills, STC rocket bus using these lane may just be what we need.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

In case of padesstrian compliance to traffic laws, we are too easy on the people and too tough on cars. If a person walks out during a red crossing signal and gets killed by a car, who’s at fault? This is a very blurred line at the moment. For traffic to work we can’t just say padestrian first...

    Toronto The Vic Towns | 16.52m | 5s | Solotex | Gabriel Bodor

There two more strip plazas and a super centre within 10 min walking distance. Existing retail inventory seems very low yield. Don’t think we are missing much with a full bedroom development.

    Toronto 2450 Victoria Park | 94m | 29s | Collecdev | gh3

I am not at all thrilled with the lack of office space in this proposal. Where is NBC Universal moving to? Also, are those metal balcony railings? we have plenty of apartment buildings from the 70s that tells us why that's not a good idea. And these buildings overall do not look attractive...

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

The Metrolinx is in bed with Alstom atm, and this hydrogen thing I suspect is another move to favor Alstom in Ontario’s future. I so tired of Metrolinx attending to its own political interests and not actually doing anything.

    Toronto Legacy, Ultra, and Yorkland at Heron's Hill | ?m | 40s | Mattamy Homes | Graziani + Corazza

That section of Sheppard has nothing to do with the LRT. The LRTs are underground at that location.

Costco (42-46 Overlea Boulevard) Demolition of Heritage Building, Former Coca-Cola HQ

In case of Overlea I more or less can empathize. The apartment building neighborhood to the south of the street is very high density but have only one way of getting out, which is through Overlea. Given that there are no rail transportation in the area, all residents depend on that street to...

    Toronto Legacy, Ultra, and Yorkland at Heron's Hill | ?m | 40s | Mattamy Homes | Graziani + Corazza

It’s not too bad, the store fronts are very easy to see when you’re driving on the road. The only issue is that the lack of visible parking/stopping areas pretty much ensure no drivers would want to come into these stores unless they are an already intended destination. Although stores on this...

    Toronto Parkside Square | 142.94m | 43s | Tribute | Turner Fleischer

Given the new rent control laws, i wonder if they will convert some of the apartments to condos.

Not bad, considering they they could’ve chosen to have an all spandrel bottom as well.
