2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

Is this Doug Ford's burner account?

Does Faith Goldy et al have a point???

Generalizing and trying demonize an entire group of people based on your limited knowledge IS socially conservative. This is no different than "Mexicans are rapists" I definitely do not assume you necessarily stand up for women's equality or gender equality, those are just likely convenient...

Ridiculous comments and claims made by City Councillors

She clearly complains about lots being split into two and two homes going up where there used to be a single bungalow. That's anti density. I also definitely don't think there's much that should be protected about the character of the 1950s neighbourhood.

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

And endorsement by John Tory is a direct equivalent to selling your soul to the devil. I was torn between the two but now it's clear. Mihevc needs to go away.

Ridiculous comments and claims made by City Councillors

https://twitter.com/Janet_Davis/status/1050829193750044672 Oh my goodness! Density Creep! And Janet Davis is supposed to be progressive. I don't even want to think about the openly conservative ones.

    Toronto One Bloor East | 257.24m | 76s | Great Gulf | Hariri Pontarini

The front entrance always looked very mediocre, almost as if it was a placeholder something more decent.

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

You bought all those houses in Cabbagetown so cheap back in the day because of the shelters existing in the vicinity, like that's the only reason you live there in first place. Now all of a sudden poor income folks are the bad guys? I'm not against gentrification but this is all very tasteless...

Toronto Municipal Election 2018: Mayor’s Race

In a mayoral race the issue is there is just isn't that many voters like you described. And for whatever shady reason the NDP machine that managed to collect most votes in a different election a couple of months ago isn't supporting her properly.

Does Faith Goldy et al have a point???

Oh dear. Socially conservative gay guys strike again! If you have to side with an open neo-Nazi to state a position on an issue, that's pretty horrific. She only started with the brown people because it's a low hanging fruit - please be assured her camp will eventually come for the gays too.

Toronto Municipal Election 2018: Mayor’s Race

If the Yonge proposal was up to referendum it would have lost. Unfortunately that's the make up of the city.

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

Wow. Brad Bradford has to be extremely crafty... In the early stages he campaigned with Keesmaat and now he got Tory to endorse him? Extremely sketchy. I hope he doesn't win.

https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2018/10/02/toronto-cop-guilty-of-misconduct-after-texting-photos-of-himself-to-victim-of-domestic-call.html Two mindblowing cliches in one story: 1- Sending unsolicited photos accompanied by "Sorry!!! That was intended for someone else". Are you f**king...

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

I think the ridership and economic activity on King totally justifies a below ground portion from Spadina to Jarvis or hell, Bathurst to Parliament. It's the financial core of the country and extremely densely populated. Yes, even with an eventual subway underneath Queen East it's justified.

    Toronto The Brixton | 45.41m | 12s | CentreCourt | Graziani + Corazza

I'm happy ground floor is not residential.

2018 Municipal Election: Toronto Council Races

I am under the impression that the whole Cressy thing is a little personal.

    Toronto L-Tower | 204.82m | 58s | Cityzen | Daniel Libeskind

I'm still rooting for this building hard. It's easily the most striking addition to the skyline in the last decade.

Toronto Municipal Election 2018: Mayor’s Race

I agree that she could get 5% and above, there are a lot of people for whom Nick Kouvalis isn't hateful enough.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

A fully pedestrian area is the worst possible situation if you actually want to move people in the streetcar.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

What King should have had is fully dedicated streetcar lanes, cars being strictly limited to the right lane (and no sidewalk patio stuff). That combined with removal of a few stops would have been far more effective than what we have now.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

The same group of people were saying this corridor deserves a subway and anything else was a 'war on cars'. Now all of a sudden BRT is a great idea? Give me a break.
