Hyatt on King West (Holiday Inn remake) COMPLETE

So that leaves no Holiday Inn downtown...they'll have to find another property to rebrand instead. I think 1BE is available.

    Transformation AGO (5s, Gehry) COMPLETE

Fencing on the east side had been removed. You can now sit on the Henry Moore and watch workers working overhead...

    Toronto Hullmark Centre | 167.94m | 45s | Tridel | Kirkor

Aside from the corridor of towers all you see is predominately single family houses, which makes it more sub than urban. Great view though.

It hasn't fattened up, it's just a different angle. It's a pretty crude rendering, so I wouldn't put much faith in it anyway, aside from the massing.

    Toronto Maple Leaf Square | 185.92m | 54s | Lanterra | KPMB

That's just the east end catching up with the rest. Remember that this end had the temporary parking garage ramp that needed to be removed. Once that was done it was at least 7 floors behind.

    Transformation AGO (5s, Gehry) COMPLETE

The sidewalk so far is just concrete with the typical Gehry 'earthquake' pattern (just a staggered grid) as seen with the titanium, bathroom tiles, etc. etc.

that image has changed so that the little plaza is filled in with a more appropriate density. Doesn't look so out of place now.

It is pretty banal... and it's probably a bad sign that they're only showing the backside of the building. From the looks of it, the street side has several setbacks. It appears to be pretty much the same design as before with prehaps a few changes to the facades.

    Toronto East Lofts Condos | ?m | 12s | Harhay | a—A

I think it's safe to say that most people writing on this forum are not purchasers of the buildings they are writing about. Most people here are interesting in the buildings going up in this city in general. With so much construction in Toronto at the moment it is understandable that EAST...

    Transformation AGO (5s, Gehry) COMPLETE

The crumpled look is called 'oil canning' and comes from the thickness of the material and the way it was installed. Gehry usually designs his buildings this way becuase he likes the look. Probably becuase it looks like fish scales.

I keep hearing the Law & Order theme music when I look a that photo. Great stuff.

I doubt that is what you are seeing. The joining of two units would not change the base structure of the building. The concrete shear walls would stay the same while the interior partitions could be reconfigured, even plumbing stacks cannot be moved. Obviously too early to see any of that.

The Tridel condos at Richmond and Sherbourne were also built over a parking garage. Interestingly all these examples were former commercial properties.

Even the larger units are oddly laid out.

I thought they couldn't get that high there...something about the flight path to Pearson.
