I agree about the scooters! My partner and I used them for the first time in Mexico City over Xmas and I fell in love with them. So much so that I now want to buy one for myself. It won’t have the same flexibility to just drop it anywhere, but riding them to get around was just so awesome.
Sounds like a good way to say "F-U" to the "downtown elites". Give Scarborough the cadillac of subways because they "deserve it" and stick the "elites" with an RT. That'll show 'em. /s
With zero personal transit planning knowledge I’d love it if Yonge and Church up to Bloor were car-free with wider sidewalks and the waterfront streetcars looping. Make Bay and Jarvis the car only streets.
Went by this building this morning and the plywood was down and you can see into it. I'll try to get pictures of the inside but was in a hurry and could only snap this to show that the whole main floor facade is currently open.
Just because they deal with worse, doesn't mean we should be plastering Sunshine Girls on the wall. It's a workplace and therefore completely unacceptable for ANY reason. We don't get to choose the degree of sexual harassment we inflict on women in the workplace.
I'm guessing this isn't serious? Because there's absolutely no way this is serious. If there are women on this job they would also have hard hats and boots so I would edit to add something to indicate it's a joke...and if it's not? Jesus....
Yes but I think their upstairs venue "The Lodge" is still up and running. Curious what the new renos on the main floor will bring. It did look kind of tired inside.
Walking past Wellesley on the Park the other night I saw that the light had been left on on the north side, 2nd(?) floor and could see what looked like pictures of women taped up on the wall. I don't care if it's a "blue-collar" job, I work in a blue-collar industry and this is bullshit. Sorry...
TTC being swallowed up by a road that has no sidewalks, bike lanes, or rail. If that doesn't mirror how the city prioritizes their roads for cars over transit, I don't know what does :P
He turfed her, but only after initially embracing her and her crazy platform. She was on the podium during his acceptance speech with his family. Also, one way he's being very socially conservative? That he vowed to scrap the sex ed curriculum. I'm sure if I googled for two minutes I could...
About 10 years ago I lived in both 565 and 545 Sherbourne and it's fine. In fact, on average, I currently see worse at Yonge/Carlton where I live now than I did when I lived on that part of Sherbourne.
As a "downtown person" who lives at Yonge and College I'm so sick of all of this bullshit. The crowding isn't my issue. I can walk/bike to work. Things like the DRL will alleviate crowding for the suburbanites that use the line to come downtown. So stop saying this is for us. It's not. It...
