Hadn't checked in on this for a while. To be blunt, so far, it looks as incoherent as I feared from the renders to be honest. The stuck on 'cross bracing' is surreal and the metal clad stair core, strange bulges and changes in glass... it just doesn't seem to know what building it wants to be.

Oftentimes it is blue but sometimes it's silver, sometimes gold, sometimes oily black, sometimes grey green. It has moods.

Tsk - the nanny state at its worst! In my day, getting squashed by falling masonry was all part of growing up! Made a man out of you! Kids today have it too soft.

Yes - they'll probably need to control numbers quite tightly until the second one is built. I presume they need every bid of surface to store stuff on while they build the second tower given it's such a narrow site, so it makes sense. Everyone will need more patience for the full park...

Do t worry. Just take care of that gorgeous glass!

Indeed - it is faceted all the way to the top but the last 'diamond' is exaggerated up into a dart shape to crown the towers. It'll be interesting to see how the very tops behave optically given that they often have sky behind them, but the glass should have the same reflective characteristics...

I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you, but the second tower isn't the same.... ...it's slightly taller. Sorry

Those are some big pieces of glass too!

Hmmm... mixed feelings. There can be merit in subtlety - which seems a strange thing to say about a tower with big diamonds on it, but it's the refinement of each of the ingredients that lets the whole be so strong - if that makes any sense at all. Good to see the feature lighting being tested...

...and that is the final top of the steel! There might be another metre of glass above that, but that's all folks! Yes it should have been taller, but it does look pretty good from that Bay Street view looking at the narrow end.

I don't think 141 Bay is going to have a parallelogram plan. I forget where I saw the drawings but someone put a plan on here a ways back that showed it rectilinear. That looks like an old plan you have there - the park design, canopy extent are all quite different.

Not sure what definition you're using. There will be no more office floors going in, which may be what you mean, but there is definitely more steel going on top. The tower is not yet full height.

Don't think the steel is topped out yet - it extends some way beyond the top of the concrete core - look back at Contra's diagrams.

Working backwards on that, you'd expect them to be working on their office fit-out already where they can, and things like their restaurants and so on by early summer I guess.

Nice looking cable wall there. First picture I’ve seen of it. Should look pretty sweet when not backed up by all that scaffolding.

Ha ha. They probably had the date in the diary for the 'last beam', and weren't about to move it. They might be slightly behind where they wanted to be - which happens. Either that or it was just difficult to get everyone's Outlook appointments to line up, or didn't want the 'ceremonial beam' to...
