Great news, I really like those benches!

Those building traumatize me every time I have to go shopping at Loblaws. Buildings like this, should never have been allowed to ruin our last pice of downtown waterfront! God, I hate these towers with a passion! I still say, our central waterfront should have been focused on fun, meaning...

At least the bottom of this will be lined with retail, so it will bring some animation to this part of the waterfront. The building isn't so bad. I much prefer this to a grey, glass/spandrel box.

Why are there no day centres for homeless people to go during the day?

These are good for data centres but they will kill the street vibe in this location, which right now is pretty bad but once the public space is built across the street, has potential to become a destination. I wish they could have at least put some retail facing the street with the data centre...

This is the current state that downtown Yonge Street is in today. It is rather glum and lifeless! This walk goes from The Esplanade to Dundas Square.

For anybody who hasn't seen downtown Yonge Street recently, here is a video I filmed a few days ago walking up Yonge from The Esplanade to Dundas Square. I warn you, it is rather depressing.

I think we dodged a bullet and this is for the best. The more I read about this project and how Google was acting, the more cynical I became and I did not trust them to do the right thing. I have no doubt that in the long term, we will be much better off.
