It's civic pride. Montrealers have it. They just don't shut up about how awesome their city is. It is not like Montreal has anything better to offer than Toronto. It is different, not better, not worse. Don't want to start another Montreal vs Toronto thread. Torontonians (at least the ones I...

Can you pay cash for airplane tickets?

Do the airline counters at Pearson even sell tickets in the first place?

    Toronto Ontario Place | ?m | ?s | Infrastructure ON

I am conflicted about the Cinesphere. I don't see a point to the Cinesphere anymore - IMAX theatres are everywhere now. While it did show educational programming, Ontario Place doesn't seem to be an Edutainment venue. On the other hand, I get the nostalgia aspect as to why one would want...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

“Just imagine putting a streetcar in the middle of that traffic,” he said. “To me rapid transit...an LRT or subway, must run underground.” He later added: “Putting trains down the middle of congested, jammed up streets like the one behind us is not the answer. It is wrong.” I don't understand...

    Toronto Tourism

I am from Montreal, and I like Toronto. Mind you it has been 24 years since I left, but my relatives there still aren't fans of TO.

Ethics and Legality of Publishing Rooftopping Pics

This is more an ethical dilemma rather than a legal one: Are you ok with a person risking their life (scaling a structure without a safety harness or fall arrest device) and breaking the law or committing an offence (i.e trespassing or breaking and entering) in order to get a photograph?

    Toronto Tourism

Is a peameal bacon sandwich the quintessential Toronto dish? If so, I never knew that. I want to try one now! Toronto is a cosmopolitan city, we should work with our strengths: "Don't have the time or money to see all of the world? Come to Toronto and experience every culture in the world!"

Ha, this is Trump we are talking about - expect tacky!

Toronto St Regis Toronto Hotel and Residences | 281.93m | 58s | JFC Capital | Zeidler

I do agree that at ground level, from the photos, the building does look good, but it really infuriates me when you step back from the building and see how small the site is. It is just the wrong building for this site. Other small details that are annoying: - it isn't symmetrical. - the...

180-190 Webb Dr (MCC, Baif Developments Ltd, 18+5s+Towns, Kirkor)

I kinda like it. It does complement the citygate buildings. However the description says two 35 storey towers - that doesn't look like two 35 storey towers in the rendering. It is funny how in MCC you have these buildings which meet the street and then the neighbouring building doesn't...

Toronto St Regis Toronto Hotel and Residences | 281.93m | 58s | JFC Capital | Zeidler

I am not a fan of this building, but for all the building's shortcomings, kudos to the people actually responsible for the practical aspects of designing and constructing such a tower on such a challenging site.

    Mississauga Absolute World | 169.77m | 56s | Cityzen | MAD architects

^^^ Hmm, ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer....no, I won't do that: Because they are different. The builder decided to mix things up. Think of this as fraternal twins, rather than identical twins.

I never made the original statement - that would be Steveve. Only pointing out that CrystalBlu is a actual building, and blue colour glass is not automatically "cheap"

    Mississauga Absolute World | 169.77m | 56s | Cityzen | MAD architects

Wow, completely missed the point - Crystal Blu is the name of a condo in Toronto with horrible cheesy looking cladding. It is insulting to infer that someone would equate colour with quality.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

David Miller did the same thing - lose weight. Perhaps this is as close as Rob Ford emulating David Miller. Let's see how well he does: "I need to cut the gravy from my diet." 3 months later, no weight loss. "Hmm, looks like there was no gravy"....

    Square One Shopping Centre

The main entrance to Whole foods should have been on Rathburn, but there is no foot traffic on Rathburn. Chicken and egg? At least with the coffee shop if they have a patio, patrons could watch the go karts racing by across the street...

    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

Well, the floor space is going to be 1.3 million sq feet, right? I don't think there have been such large buildings built recently.

    Mississauga Parkside Village Residences | 135.93m | 45s | Amacon | Richmond Architects

Taking a look at the podium renderings, it looks like the upper floors will be residences. It would have been great if at least one section of the eastern podium were designated as office space. This is one project I am looking forward to seeing how it interacts with the street. Limelight was...
