    Toronto Bike Share

It sounds like in terms of infrastructure it will likely be cheaper than Bike Share.

    Toronto 399 Yonge | 252.3m | 75s | Capital Developments | Teeple Architects

I'm surprised at the investment in this location, since the other three corners either have actual or proposed high-rises. How long will this corner last as a low-rise?

Grand Touring Automobiles (777 Dundas St E, 4s, Plaston Architect) COMPLETE

Yeah, and I'm not crazy about the way that this building (and Bridgepoint) encroach on the valley.

    Toronto Bike Share

Should every company that rents bikes be required to do that?

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

They only need to go a TBM-length further (and actually most of the machinery apart from the actual cutting head can likely be removed through the tunnel itself.) And, again, if you're talking about the cost of maintaining them in situ versus the cost of creating a huge extraction shaft in the...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Sure, that's preferable. But in specific, I don't think that we need to route the DRL based on potential TBM extraction points downtown.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Do the TBMs even need to be extracted? If the tunnel will eventually be extended west and north, why not simply have them tunnel a bit farther and then park them, to be used later?

    Toronto U of T: John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design | 18.9m | 3s | U of T | NADAAA

Are there any plans to clean the brickwork? I know when they did that with Victoria College some years back, it was a revelation.

Toronto The Globe and Mail Centre | 83.21m | 17s | First Gulf | Diamond Schmitt

Yes, Time and Space is a horrible project, but projects like that are setting the scale for the neighbourhood. It's my understanding that the Staples lot is to be redeveloped as well, and certainly it currently is not in keeping with the form of King Street further west. I think the Globe and...

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

Buses don't have the same capacity as LRT, and would be slower.

Debate on the merits of the Scarborough Subway Extension

The LRT would have had more stops and served far more local riders, which would seem to be addressing the concerns of actual transit users in that area.

Toronto The Globe and Mail Centre | 83.21m | 17s | First Gulf | Diamond Schmitt

Unless you're referring solely to the ground level, I strongly disagree -- certainly the interior corner on the southwest side of the building is both eye-catching and eye-watering, as one tries to work out what is the corner and what is the reflection. It's a bit like Escher in solid form...

Toronto The Globe and Mail Centre | 83.21m | 17s | First Gulf | Diamond Schmitt

It has a Freshii instead. Of course, there is also a huge frontage on King Street that will be retail as well.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Boom. (Although the article says that these vehicles are larger than the Bombardier ones -- I wonder if that would have any impact on stop platforms.)

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

What exactly is a "non-executive chairman"?

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Tory's position seems completely reasonable. If the province wants Toronto to push riders from the north through an at-capacity Bloor-Yonge, it has to help reduce the number of riders going there currently from elsewhere on the system.

    Toronto One Bloor East | 257.24m | 76s | Great Gulf | Hariri Pontarini

Welcome, technics, and thanks for the insider views!

    Toronto Eaton Centre (Ongoing Renewal) | ?m | ?s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

Am I mistaken, or is there irony in this previously being rumoured to be an Apple Store?

Toronto The Globe and Mail Centre | 83.21m | 17s | First Gulf | Diamond Schmitt

My point is that this will by no means be the largest building in this area in 5 years, so I wouldn't blame it for the densification to come. (And again, 318 King to the northeast is even larger.)

Toronto The Globe and Mail Centre | 83.21m | 17s | First Gulf | Diamond Schmitt

Its context includes the Staples lot across the street to the east that is up for redevelopment soon, a large condo to its northeast, and several sizeable developments going in a block to its west. It may be seem "out of context" now, but it is merely a pioneer for similarly-sized projects...
