The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

the thing is barely half put together, and yet still - driving down the DVP onto the gardiner going west, with all the tall buildings and spotlights and UFO floating lights emanating from the CN Tower, the one thing you can see more prominently than anything is the big flood of light that is...

The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

I think it does look less like a 5 year old's b-day party than before - which, to me, is a good thing. I realize it's pretty ridiculous to use the word sophisticated with this project, but this updated version is something more along those lines to me than the one we've been looking at for...

1 Bloor East, DEAD AND BURIED (Bazis, -2s, Varacalli)

I think in recent years you're probably right that not much happens at the corner, but going back for me, I associate the corner with the uptown theatre (and the 2 or 3 other theatres around there 10-15 years ago). remember when TIFF used to do screenings there? red carpet and all. the...

    Clubland vs. Residential

lobby isn't a club...it's a 'lounge/bar'. which is what mainly populates the streets of college, queen, and pretty much every other street in the downtown core outside the 'club district'. I'm not exactly sure what the difference is - I would imagine size, amount of people - but they do well all...

The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that paramount is the busiest and most profitable theatre in canada. there's room for competition. the new AMC will mostly likely show the same big bugdet films as paramount and neither will be the worse for it. I've often made my way down to paramount only...

    Clubland vs. Residential

I could easily see most of clubland getting retrofitted into condo's or apartments in the next 10, 15 years. it would look very new york-ish, that's for sure.

    City Reports 2007

310 richmond st sorry, but I can't find a thread with this info, and I wasn't previously aware of this project. I was walking by yesterday and saw the details. looks like another attempt at diversifying the club district. look like they're knocking down the old club 'Joker' (and a bunch of...

    Sam the Record Man Closure

buh...this idea brings to mind that sporting store on king st west, in front of mountain equipment coop - the old building encased in the glass tomb. terrible. I walk by it everyday and have thoughts of tearing it down just as often.

    Taking Pictures Guide

your eye is constantly adapting to light and color...your camera (whether digital or not,) isn't. which is why you have to tell it what to see, and how to see it. there should be a white balancing button somewhere on your camera - find it and use it often. and watch that you don't over-expose...
