A number of them are actually condominiums so buying the properties would require negotiating with hundreds of different residents in each building. I would assume that makes it far more difficult than buying each building from a single owner.
I was under the impression that Hurontario will lose one lane in each direction in order to accommodate LRT. With three lanes in each direction over the 401, one assumes the middle lanes will eventually be dedicated transit lanes once the LRT line is built.
The South Access Road to Whittle Road was interesting. Have traffic studies demonstrated a significant amount of truck traffic exiting the 401 eastbound and then turning left at Britannia?
I guess it also provides a convenient route to Kennedy south at times when Hurontario southbound is...
Getting back to the original topic, has anyone driven through the interchange during rush hour in recent weeks? With the lights timed to allow traffic exiting the highway and turning left to continue through the next light, it is often creating insane backups on Hurontario. Two lights so close...
If I'm a lemming for preferring a computer with a more stable operating system; software that better meets my needs and a set-up that lasts me a lot longer then sign me up for rodent duty.
McGuinty seems to be on the road to Bill Davis territory: Slow and steady; generally sensible policies with little flash but also few openings to successfully attack him. All he needs now is his Spadina Expressway to turn him into a saviour.
If he loses any seats up north or in the London-Windsor corridor, it would likely be to the NDP (with perhaps the exception of London itself.) Unless a major scandal comes along, he will probably hold steady in the GTA and Ottawa area.
Many of them were originally run by former IGA franchisers after LOEB took over and there was a major cleansing of franchise owners. It begs the question as to how much change in store management will take place at T & T.
What qualifies as an independent?
T&T was jointly owned by Uni-President Enterprises Corporation (T'ung-i Chi-yeh - a big Taiwanese company) and Tawa Supermarkets (99 Ranch Market in California). Thus the name: T & T.
I believe Uni-President Enterprises Corporation is bigger than Weston.
Both locations always had lineups so I think the demand was there. There aren't any open spaces next to the remaining location so I can't see it expanding any time soon. It might get pretty crazy over there and any long lineups will cause problems as there is also a seating area that squeezes...
The food court one. I'm curious about the reason. It was always the busiest outlet in the food court so I doubt it was lack of sales. Surely it wasn't shut down simply to force everyone to the already-busy Sears location or because the line up was a bit of an impediment?
Custom printed t-shirts in Square One?
Are there any shops in Square One that provide custom printing for t-shirts? I believe Lids offers this service for hats but I'm not sure if they also print t-shirts.
Thanks in advance.
Why would you assume I don't know how to use Google? I was looking for quality magazine shops that people on this forum recommend. Your "duh" comment is uncalled-for.
Thanks, I will check it out next time I'm downtown.
I was in Ottawa this weekend and stopped by Mags & Fags on Sunday. It's one of the places I miss most after moving to the GTA.
I am curious if there are any news shops with a large selection of magazines and newspapers.
Some Chapters/Indigo locations are ok and there are some decent small newsstands out there but I'm looking for something similar to the wide selection of Mags & Fags in Ottawa.
If anyone is...
