Is the George Brown College site nearby? That huge ugly parking lot looks like a nice site for it.

    Transit Fantasy Maps

I've always wondered if the southern portion of the Don Mills line (from Pape station to Pape and Queen would be above ground or below. It's a pretty densely built up neighbourhood, and it would seem prohibitively expensive to build under. They could use Carlaw and Pape as southern routes...

The Toronto roots of Stuff White People Like

Although I agree that the Baches is one of the 'whiter neighbourhoods" in the city however Leaside and Rosedale pop into my mind when I think of white people. When something produces Steven Harper it must be so white it's blinding.

    Chinatown Street Signs

I prefer the tried and true way to deal with the signs that aren't in English. Ignoring them. I can read the English, and I don't care about the Chinese characters. If it helps somebody that doesn't speak English then it's great. I just don't think they should rely on them to get around...

    Parking Tickets and Dead Park-Bot

I used to work at the monitoring station that you call in to report broken meters, stuck credit cards dead machines and the like. TPA is an arms length corporation that is in fact run by idiots. The tickets you get on the street are issued by the police, but if you look at the signs nearby, it...

    Riverdale

Anyway. Has anyone else noticed that there are a couple of sites that could seriously be redeveloped in Riverdale? here's my list Pape and Gerrard. - Maple Leaf bar. Dying out and could probaly be turned into either a sports bar or music scene like the horseshoe. Carlaw and Gerrard -...

    Another police car crash.

Sure Digi. I broke the law along with the twenty or so other passengers waiting at the stop. There are times to be the witness and assist the officers, other times it's prudent to go about your day. The cops had insurance, as I'm sure the pick up driver did. I wasn't involved in the accident...

That's why you need to make friends with people of questionable morals. They may have access to alcohol at reasonable prices. *wink

Where would all that traffic go to Barry? I'm not a big fan of cars myself but treating Bay street as Car Free sundays in Kensington seems a tad weak. I think we should keep the Gardiner. I grew up a stones throw away and watched an elevated highway get demolished into a 6 lane highway at...

    Another police car crash.

I saw a cop car turn on his lights and promptly turn right into a pick up truck. He didn't look in his blind spot and WHAMMO! Smacked him hard in the passenger side door and pieces of debris went everywhere. It made my day going into work last week. I would have stayed as a witness but my...

What other choice to we have to vote for? The NDP aren't going to help, might make more problems than we already have...

    Waterfront: Hearn Sports Complex

What if they gutted most of the building and turned it into a second contemporary art centre like the Powerplant at Queens Quay? Feature local artists and focus more on natural beauty. It sounds a heck of a lot better than turning it into a pool. There have got to be better places to build a...

Man...i used to eat at that subshop. If I knew it was a rub N tug above...I would have tipped better.

    Leslieville / Studio District

hey hey hey...some of us don't have any other way to get downtown. The streetcar is still a great thing. I don't mind if it takes me 40 minutes to get downtown. I pay less than if I was driving and I don't have to worry about parking.

Chinatown East: Zhong Hua Men Gate

i agree. I remember as a kid walking by the corner of Broadview and Gerrard and seeing live crabs in a basket climbing out and getting crushed by cars. It'll start to gentrify soon enough. Little India has done a good job of cleaning up it's image and it seems to be booming.

Doesn't Dan McTeague represent that area?

    Waterfront: Hearn Sports Complex

If I'm not mistaken there are 12 city of Toronto swimming facilities relatively close to Unwin Ave. Turning the former generating station into a pool or 'sports complex" is foolhardy and a waste of money. The Douglas Snow aquatic centre is a good example of how to do it.

My thoughts exactly. This project will create high paying jobs in a sector of the economy that the government should enthusiastically support. I'd rather the province give a billion dollars to the biotech and heath sectors of the economy rather than dole out that money to auto manufacturers...

    Riverdale

The plow actually came and got rid of the mountain of ice build up on Pape south of gerrard. I don't think I've seen something so beautiful. However, the next plow sent it all back on. Go figure. What street were they ticketing?

I work at the Air Canada Centre. At the beginning of the season, Peddie and some of the other executives brought all of the employees together for a town hall meeting. At that meeting, they went into explicit detail about what was transpiring with MLS square and the ACC expansion. The screen...
