    Toronto Bloor Street Neighbourhood Condos | ?m | 32s | Cresford | Northgrave

Without the use of tenuous analogies to fashion, can you point out which architectural features of BSN imbue it with this timeless quality in contrast to Casa? I would also implore the Casa fans to likewise defend their building using the same criteria. *** This has been a public service...

    Toronto Bloor Street Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Bloor-Yorkville BIA | architectsAlliance

The granite slabs look especially nice and glossy after a downpour. Any idea whether the new sidewalks will extend all the way up to the property line of the Crown Life Building (NW corner of Church + Bloor)? The original stone paving hasn't been touched, and it couldn't certainly stand to be...

    Bloor-Yorkville Scene

There was a sushi place that briefly opened up in one of the sunken storefronts next to the Regency (replacing one of those stores selling shelves and closet organizers for small urban spaces) - it couldn't have lasted more than half a year.

    Avenue Road Oldies

    Great find. Thanks!

    What Toronto street is this?

Alas, there are no lights at the cemetary entrance, as I've discovered recently, much to my chagrin.

    Ontario Produce at supermarkets?

We can hardly risk prowling moderators to misconstrue our discussions about produce as the dissemination of rural propaganda, now can we? Surely that would be grounds for swift and decisive thread closure?

    Ontario Produce at supermarkets?

I can't say I possess a green thumb, and maybe I'm just buying in to old wives' tales, but my understanding is that manual pollination, although not necessary for fruit production, can certainly help when raising tomatoes in suboptimal growing conditions. Since I'm on a 5th floor balcony in a...

    Ontario Produce at supermarkets?

My girlfriend and I went strawberry picking at a farm just outside Guelph yesterday (just a stone's throw from Guelph lake). We spent a better part of an hour and amassed 6 quarts, costing us a little over 20 bucks. The nice part is that we were extraordinarily meticulous in our picking and can...

    Avenue Road Oldies

I took a stroll up Avenue the other day to check out these handsome structures in person (I've been up and down this stretch dozens of times, but always whizzing by in a vehicle). They truly are imposing. Though I have to say, the variety store on the corner of the building in Andrew's third...

Roads: Keep the Gardiner, fix it, or get rid of it? (2005-2014)

Hopfully not a repost: http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/652918 A roof on the Gardiner? Jun 18, 2009 11:37 AM Vanessa Lu City Hall Bureau Chief A local architect thinks it is a good idea to add a roof to the Gardiner Expressway that could be turned into a park with trees...

    Toronto Parks

It's not really a park per se, but there's a community vegetable garden on the west side of Huron, just south of the children's library on College. It appears to be a coordinated effort by a number of people to divide up the plot into small parcels for growing vegetables. There weren't many...

    Toronto ugliest highrise building

Are you, perchance, a fellow Bloor Walk resident? For the record, I'm not very partial at all to the use of pink stucco or the faux-copper crown (fortunately, not overly prominent). The rooftop garden, however, is fantastic, and the building meets the street well with a solid, brick podium...

    Restaurant Comings & Goings

Not sure if this was mentioned elsewhere, but Jamie Kennedy at the Gardiner is closing next week.

    Dakrstar's Doors Open 2009 (Sunday)

I must say, the new centre fulfills this purpose rather poorly. I invigilated an exam there a few weeks back, and the all of the wide columns present a logistical nightmare for invigilating. You need a small army of people patrolling the room to spot students wanting to ask a question or to...

    Toronto ugliest highrise building

Funny - this building made my cut for most underappreciated building in the city.

    lost Toronto in colour--late 40's-early 70's

One other thing - it's my understanding that they'll be rebuilding and restoring Bishop's Block as part of the Shangri-La project. Is that still the plan, or did I miss some crucial announcement?

    lost Toronto in colour--late 40's-early 70's

Mustapha, it seems you have your work cut out for you. Chop chop! ;) On second thought, maybe not. I'm sure many of the "now" shots will be enough to make one's stomach turn.

    lost Toronto in colour--late 40's-early 70's

I believe that house (or one just like it) is on the east side of Spadina Ave., around Sussex. The architect certainly had a twisted sense of humour. Fantastic thread, by the way. edit: d'oh - adma was nimbler on the "quote" button.

    Toronto Murano | ?m | 45s | Lanterra | a—A

Thanks ProjectEnd. These were all taken from the top of Bloorwalk 1 (at Church and Hayden). Awful-looking building, but great views from the rooftop patio (I also have no problem living in an ugly building, since I don't have to worry about seeing it from my window).
