GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

The new garages are more expensive to light and to secure after construction is complete. That $9 includes built-in, long-term capital costs, so I wouldn't be too surprised if it was true.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I don't feel that optimistic. Rob Ford guilty, sure, but I doubt it will result in him thrown from office. The amount was too small, and Ford too incompetant, for there to be any calculated scheme. It will just end up being another nail in the coffin of his career, which will be sealed later.

OLG Toronto/GTA casino proposal (where to put it?)

Funny that the Unions are coming out in favour of this. The money will just get sucked from other hotels, venues, entertainment options. I see this as a zero-sum game.

Toronto non-mall retail (Odds & Ends)

The Marshalls space is almost ready. I can see it open this time next week.

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

Funny that a comment about you being harsh, and I'm inclined to agree with that, results in a nastier reply.

So you must have some sort of interest in this story, then?

    Rob Ford's Toronto

^ Isn't the casino huckster job Mammolitti's? Ford hasn't exactly been saying that "people want casinos, casinos, casinos!"

    Brampton Transit/Zum

A shame that Brampton Transit is okay with watering down the Zum brand, as 511 Steeles will only have 30 minute service at times. Not the minimum 15 minute service promised at the beginning.

    Advertising on the TTC

So you've got one Muslim and a right wing homophobic, islamophobic evangelical with ties to the Conservatives as your evidence?

    Ontario Northland/Northern Ontario Transportation

That's a little harsh, isn't it? I see your user name is "Dandy Horse." Hmm. The above sure sounds like the words of a stereotypical smug holier-than-thou downtower cyclist.

    Ontario Northland/Northern Ontario Transportation

What is that even supposed to mean? "Rite of passage" is a event in growing up, like getting a driving learner's permit, or a first part time job, or a Bar Mitzvah. What is a "right of passage", anyway? Maybe they should get a monorail. The cost of living isn't necessarily cheaper in the...

Perhaps it's all the foaming by pubescent boys?

Toronto Dominion Bank hosts major Philadelphia Bicycle Race...

Wait until they find out what TD stands for! Funny how TD has name on two major league arenas in the States, Boston, Orlando. Then RBC has one in Carolina. Wasn't the point of the 2nd Amendment to bear arms to keep "Royal" institutions out of America?

    Fate of the SRT

It depends on how you use the technology, right? LRT, in its high-end fashion, like those in the US cities like St Louis can be very fast. The ICTS in Toronto has not worked out. Surprised they are still planning the route for this technology.

Globe: Second NHL Team for Toronto?

So what's your angle, then? You've been pretty hostile to Basillie's bid. Are you a Teacher hoping to maximize your pension? Why be such a MLSE apologist?

Globe: Second NHL Team for Toronto?

Good find. Some nasty things said about MLSE.

Head of Slips (Waterfront Toronto, West 8/DTAH)

Take the politics elsewhere. What about a nice, lush, lawn? Or under the umbrellas at HtO? Lots of nice places to lie on the waterfront already.

Sam's Club closing down retail operations in Canada

Rona will remain, but I can see it closing the big boxes in the Ontario market at least and scaling back. I think it expanded too quickly by opening stores and buying Reno-Depot's English Canada operations and Lansing-Revy. \ What ever happened to Beaver Lumber?
