I now find it hard to believe that restaurants once had smoking and non-smoking sections, often separated by nothing more than an imaginary line, and people in the smoking section didn't think twice about lighting up indoors. I have no idea how we put up with that nonsense for so long.

Agreed. It is hard listening to the hand-wringing in some quarters about cannabis legalization, when that energy could be better spent targeting alcohol abuse. But at least alcohol can be consumed in moderation. There is no safe way to smoke tobacco.

There could be some relevance here, given the "I think they're looking for a more advanced urban setting" comment in the article, as there is one municipality in York Region which has been .... aspirational .... the same way Arlington was.

Mizrahi was misquoted. He didn't say the new restaurant has a Michelin star. He said that it has a Micheline star. The Quebec actress, Micheline Lanctôt, routinely reviews unopened and unbuilt restaurants and gives them stars based on the chutzpah of the developer. It's quite the honour.
