    The Weather

Sounds more reasonable. 39C in the morning would sound terrible. Though there are obviously places on the globe with summer daytime highs averaging in the high 30s and the 40s C, usually they cool off somewhat by night so I think not very many inhabited places in the world have frequent...

    Toronto's Future Population

How accurate have population projections been in predicting city growth? I know future predictions can be hard when you get even more than a few decades into the future, because of unforeseen circumstances (for example, the Rust belt US cities that were powerhouses before de-industrialization...

    The Weather

There's this article in the Star. https://www.thestar.com/news/starweather/2016/08/toronto-s-morning-temperature-was-hotter-than-mumbai-s.html However these sentences confuse me: "With a daytime high of 36 C and temperatures actually feeling like 43 C with the humidex, Toronto will feel like...

Do you think Scarborough will shake off its negative reputation any time in the near future?

So, Scarborough's negative reputation increased mainly in the 90s? Though the Youtube video quality isn't great, this music video (from 1991) famously has ordinary streetscapes of suburban Scarborough as its backdrop. According to Wikipedia's article on Scarborough the nickname Scarberia...

Does Toronto look to North America or elsewhere for inspiration for transit/infrastructure?

I'm really surprised as to how even New Yorkers consume significantly more gasoline than us per person (not in absolute terms of course as they're a bigger city), when their share of non-car transport is much higher. Tourists? Commuters from outside the city going home to and from New Jersey...
