    Toronto 320 Bay Modernization | ?m | 18s | Menkes | B+H

This doesn't seem to be a facadectomy which gets a conditional thumbs up from me. Would like to see more renderings - IMO I have a soft spot for the sawtoothed 80s building.

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

The WTC twin towers didn't have a concrete core. The majority of its support came from the outside load bearing walls - inside was just a steel mesh instead of a concrete core.

Oh wow.. That could be a VERY EXPENSIVE oversight :|

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

A 'massive' 24m service gap is usual west of Humber.

    Toronto CIBC SQUARE | 241.39m | 50s | Hines | WilkinsonEyre

Well to be fair, the second tower was already half leased back when this was announced in April of 2017. CIBC is occupying both towers, bottoms up to about halfway.

How to get Canada's oil to export markets?

I've been enjoying watching the 'Alberta Advantage' (tm) implode over the past few years. For years we've been told that their success is not due to digging oil out of the ground, but due to the truculence and perseverance of its people, and the high energy entrepreneurial society Albertans...

Lol can you imagine they added a condo on top of CCN? I’d literally pack my bags and leave Toronto.

Fining dump trucks for using Bathurst as a parking lot (until they receive go ahead to enter The Well) during rush hour. Are they paying big bucks for the honour?

The city could figure out a better way of managing the dump trucks from this site. They queue (15-20) at a time on Bathurst, reducing it to one left lane (shared with streetcars) which means the street isn't moving. Took 35 mins to get from the Ex to Bathurst today on Lake Shore thanks to this...

Convenient - also known as libel, but ok.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I was using single-use disposable Metrocards in NYC back in 2000. That is after they got rid of their tokens, metropasses and whatever other memorabilia they used. Only 18 years later Toronto joins the party. Oh and Montreal had Opus (but fully integrated with disposable cards, etc) since the...

    Toronto Eau du Soleil Condos | 227.98m | 66s | Empire | Richmond Architects

The HBSCA can be blamed for many things (and believe me, the list is as long, if not longer than Grimes'), but not for the developer's cladding choices.

I had to google where Brockville is.

Freshii is a hit with the lunch crowd, but not too much of one at Park Lawn and Lake Shore. Time will tell if the location survives - but I don't think it'll see 2020.

    Toronto 2150 Lake Shore | 215.75m | 67s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

Waste of time - but the perogies were delicious. Nothing new there, nothing ground breaking and no surprises.. This is what we've known for the better part of the last year. What I was glad to hear were almost unanimous voices for the GO station - as in no community support for changing the...

That will be interesting to see - thanks for the update. I'm looking forward to seeing who takes the big unit on Park Lawn. Definitely a full size restaurant.

    Lol at the thread title.

I am going to put in writing now that we won't see an RER station on that site - and I'll believe there's a DRL once the start date stops getting pushed out. Those are two pretty big ifs in a city like Toronto.

I'm sure it's moving along - I heard of potential tenants, but they're for the existing dumpster fire of a building currently on site (the one that's supposed to be renovated). There is no interest in the other 10.5 million square feet of space currently (and for the longer term) unserved by...
