    Toronto Time and Space Condos | 101.8m | 29s | Pemberton | Wallman Architects

Don't worry. Nothing lasts forever, even cold November rain.

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

There is a below-grade retail level; the second Apple Store level could very well be underground, a la 5th Avenue. Showroom at grade in a dramatic space; classroom space, boardroom, HomePod listening room and back-of-house downstairs.

    Toronto 1303 Yonge | 43.3m | 10s | Aspen Ridge | BDP Quadrangle

Sounds very like the executive of a certain bookstore chain I once worked at.

Replace the lipstick on that pig with new, better lipstick! That'll do the trick!

Poppycock! We all know Bessarion doesn't exist. It's a myth, like Nessie, or compassionate conservatism.

Toronto Cherry House at Canary Landing | 50.32m | 13s | Dream | COBE Architects

I'm looking forward to this one, both on its own merits, and also to fill in those parking lots with some urbanity. The Canary District has a few issues, but one of them is how it feels so disconnected from the rest of the city; approaching from the west, as you leave the Distillery, you just...

    Toronto Galleria III | 112.4m | 31s | Almadev | Hariri Pontarini

I assume someone's playing fast-and-loose with perspective, and the City isn't actually planning to widen the sidewalk on the north-west corner of Dufferin and Dupont? The (quite lovely, mind you) rendering has about tripled the amount of pedestrian space.

Toronto home: Power and Adelaide | 78.33m | 22s | Great Gulf | Core Architects

Whenever the sideways-house logo for this project is near the centre of a photo I want to tap it. I know it's not a play button, but I spend too much time online and it's Pavlovian.

    Toronto 419 College Street | 43.15m | 13s | BDP Quadrangle

That "potential music venue" is a joke, right? 2700 sqft and half the audience area is around a corner from the stage. I actually don't mind this architecturally (though that may just be living here for 20 years has finally lowered my standards to below sea level) but in terms of actually...

    Toronto 350 Bloor West | 117.65m | 35s | Andrin | IBI Group

A big grocery store downstairs would for sure be a win, but I'm not really jazzed about losing six storefronts along Bloor (even if they include a Tim's and a 7-11) for one 5,000 sqft space.

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

The properties would have to be worth far, far more than they currently are to make such complex and expensive engineering economically worthwhile. Toronto just has more places to build than Manhattan and it's a different market - developable space just isn't at as much of a premium here - so...

    Toronto 401 Bay Street | 143.86m | 33s | Cadillac Fairview | WZMH

You couldn't possibly mean Commerce Court, but I can't think of what other CIBC building next to Scotia you could be referring to.

    Toronto U of T: University College Revitalization | ?m | 3s | U of T | Kohn Shnier

I absolutely love the exterior of the elevator tower. All the interiors feel insensitive and shoehorned-in.

    Oh, my sweet summer child.

950 Dupont St (@ Dovercourt, renovations)

I love this building so much. Every time I walk past, I hope it'll one day be restored and adapted sensitively. It's described quite well in this piece by Alfred Holden (from, uh, 22 years ago ugh I'm so old): https://www.taddlecreekmag.com/dupont-at-zenith

557-563 King West - possible assembly.

It's like if Michael Mann and Brian dePalma opened an interior design firm. Amazing.

    Toronto Aqualina at Bayside | 47.85m | 13s | Tridel | Arquitectonica

Plainly it's Bayside Pillage, the new community for pirates with convenient front-door access to the Great Lakes.

    Toronto The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

I love that this project has taken so long, the hoarding has black-and-white archival photos of... this project.

    Toronto The Ivy | 110.33m | 34s | Tricon | Graziani + Corazza

We aren't quite talking about the same things. If you're part of the dominant culture – that is, you're straight and/or cis and/or white and/or male – then going out to a bar or club is just that: you're going out to a bar for a good time. Awesome! Have fun. If you're a member of a...

    Toronto The Ivy | 110.33m | 34s | Tricon | Graziani + Corazza

We've lost so many smaller queer venues, too – in the west end alone, in the last couple years The Steady, Henhouse, Holy Oak and now The Beaver have closed. It's a real loss.
