Toronto York University: Joan and Martin Goldfarb Gallery | 6.71m | 1s | York University | Hariri Pontarini

The Absinthe was in my college, Winters. Many's the night I'd stay there until last call, stumble across the quad to bed, then go right back the next morning to get a cheese bagel and a pint of Coke to try and shake off the damage.

Toronto The Bentway (was Under Gardiner) | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

In addition to the other, more substantive critiques, I'd just like to make sure we don't miss that 5468796's proposal brings us "Bent Buddies", which sounds like the world's lamest LGBTQ dating app.

    Toronto Peter and Adelaide | 152.39m | 47s | Graywood | BBB

Welp, I guess that explains why they didn't bother lining up the brick precast with the support columns.

Toronto St Lawrence Market North | 25.3m | 5s | City of Toronto | Rogers Stirk Harbour

It's all one building – the space between the two barrel vaults are a central atrium; the ground floor will hold the north market.

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Building the span in steel means it can be lifted into place in-between CP trains, without interrupting freight operations. Doing it in concrete would mean setting up forms, rebar work, pouring, curing, tearing down forms, all of which is so much more disruptive I assume it would be a...

    Toronto 906 Yonge Street | 139.17m | 40s | Gupta | Arcadis

I guess they're not going with CanadianNational's truly inspired idea to put the mock tudor on top of the tower, like a hat. To each their own...

    Toronto 1129 Dufferin | ?m | 3s | BN Engineering

I've always wondered what the deal was with the little one-story guy with the giant "M" painted on front. Just one of those fun, inexplicable things.

Sheraton Centre (123 Queen West, new windows & exterior repairs)

It's those French Mint-coloured desks! The rest of it feels like a Joey restaurant. Just a bland, anonymous any-place.

Toronto GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I cannot stop laughing at the "Gustav Mahler" graffitti. Oh no! If we let Metrolinx build this guideway then we'll be overrun by disaffected teens and their notorious love of early modernist composers

    Toronto History Music Venue | ?m | 2s | Live Nation | IBI Group

Happy to have another mid-sized concert venue, and the interiors look all right. The exterior's serving me "upmarket gentlemen's club" but maybe that's exactly the vibe they were aiming for

Guelph U of G: Honey Bee Research Centre | ?m | 1s | University of Guelph | Moriyama Teshima Architects

It's a giant beehive! Fun. I'm docking it one point for calling it "Bee Research Centre" when "Beesearch" is sitting right there

I'd be shocked if they didn't. A logo is in some ways a small part of a big corporate rebrand (though it usually gets the most scrutiny), but it's still table stakes to have a bunch of variant logos for different contexts: full-colour, greyscale, straight black-and-white, reversed, one that...

Legacy Art Project - Inspired by Terry Fox

There's the "Terry Fox Miracle Mile", which loops around Canoe Landing park in Cityplace (two loops = one mile). There's ten lightboxes along the route that have photos of meaningful objects/people/moments from the Marathon of Hope (his arrival in Toronto, one of his worn-through socks, the...

    Toronto 11 YV | 213m | 62s | Metropia | Sweeny &Co

You mean the Pemberton site to the west (with the orange tarps)? That's a completely separate project, different developer. As far as I can remember there's no provision for a concourse level in either project, so no underground connection to each other.

The Tenor (10 Dundas St E, Ent Prop Trust, 10s, Baldwin & Franklin)

To nitpick: the Around the Bay 30K is a running race, not a bike race. (Although I often wish I could hop on a bike around the 20K mark!) These pics are a lot of fun – thanks for posting them! The attention to detail is impressive; hopefully they can hang on until tourism is a thing again.

    Toronto York University: School of Continuing Studies | 29.26m | 5s | York University | Perkins&Will

I think I'm with Edward on this one. The cladding is a let-down, making the building look much more conservative than it actually is. Some bright colour – or at least some variation in shades – would help highlight the wild angles, rather than disguise them.
