    Roads: Bathurst Street Bridge

I guess no one actually read the RFP...the existing bridge will be rehabilitated, not replaced. The rehab is to last another 30 years.

Roads: Highway 401 Widening - Highway 8 to Highway 410 (MTO, U/C, Planned)

During this year, there will be 4 separate construction contracts ongoing: 401/Mavis Bridge 403/410/401 Interchange Structures 401 Widening from Hurontario/Mavis to Credit 410 Widening from Eglinton to Queen Due to the coordination required, things will inevitably get done more slowly...

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Really? The extension will capture a huge chunk of North York, Etobicoke, and Vaughan that would otherwise take the Yonge/Bloor lines. Also, future Finch LRT will funnel people towards the Spadina line (this will be finished before the DRL is funded). Only on urbantoronto would providing a...

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Just playing Devil's advocate here. I'm sure many would rather see the subway network extended, rather than put all our eggs in one basket and build a DRL to relieve Yonge Line overcrowding that takes place for 1 hour in the morning each day. It seems there is significant relief coming to the...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Scarborough also has about double the population of Etobicoke. Etobicoke's subway also basically covers the entire width of the city. Scarborough's barely reaches one quarter. Scarborough's waterfront is just really expensive single family homes. Isn't Etobicoke's idea better by letting...

    Mississauga Mississauga Transitway | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | IBI Group

Hopefully Metrolinx can make it right by installing a taller noise wall along the property line. Those small wood fences don't offer much privacy/noise mitigation. Living right next to a new bus terminal would be pretty frustrating.

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

One thing that people seem to conveniently ignore in the whole subway extension debate is that yes the Yonge line is congested and people have to wait for subway cars...for 2 hours a day. Drivers have learned to leave a little early as traffic will be expected. Each morning, every highway into...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

I'm sure people in Scarborough will be inspired to hear that they'll be allowed to develop as urban paradises such as downtown Mississauga and Hamilton.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

If you hadn't noticed, North York and Etobicoke already have subways into their "core", so I don't really see your point. If anything it shows Scarborough is missing a subway that North York/Etobicoke already have (and have had for 30+ years!).

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

The popular opinion on here is to tear down the Gardiner east of Jarvis...and the figure shows over 110,000 vehicles/day in the section east of Sherbourne. Could the local road network absorb those additional vehicles if the Gardiner is removed? Might have to start with thinking about taking...

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

Well, it's actually higher than 100,000: https://www1.toronto.ca/City Of Toronto/Transportation Services/Road safety/Files/pdf/24hourvolumemap2013.pdf Of course it's overbuilt as it was designed to connect to a Lakeshore expressway that would go through Scarborough to connect to 401 and as a...

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

So many falsehoods in that article though... "the number of cars affected here represents about a third of the daily ridership of the Birchmount bus." This section of the Gardiner actually carries over 100,000 vehicles/day compared to 11,000 for Birchmount...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

I think this quote summarizes the issue quite nicely: “Ridership numbers are always lowest at the ends of the line, but that doesn’t mean that each region of our city should not be served by high-speed transit.” The article quotes that ridership would drop to 9,800 with 5min Smart Track...but...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Tripling or quintupling the number of traffic signals per intersection generally does not lead to increased efficiency.

    Roads: Gardiner Expressway

That's like showing a video of a half-full subway southbound from King to Union station and saying the Yonge line has no issues.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I think the U-Turns will all occur while opposing traffic is stopped, hence the traffic signals. So the weaving from left to right shouldn't be a huge issue. But I agree that Islington, Kipling, Martin Grove, (and possibly Royal York) should look at partial underground options.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

To a handful of side streets yes, but not to major arterials. Eglinton West will also have separate signals mid-block for U-Turns only which I haven't seen anywhere else before.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Those left turn restrictions on to Martin Grove, Kipling, Islington, Royal York, etc. along Eglinton West must give the residents a lot pause. I don't think that has been done anywhere else in Toronto, let alone Ontario?

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Are there any preliminary plans showing how a surface LRT would fit on Eglinton? Would some sections be reduced to one lane in each direction? If so, that would be a traffic nightmare. Eglinton needs to remain a strong arterial road as an alternative to the clogged 401. I'd also be curious...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Nice map! It surprises me that even the section of Sheppard to Eglinton would require a full blown subway though. I would expect many from the east to instead transfer to the Bloor Danforth line at STC.
