  1. Red October

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

Others have said this but I think the dome gets more hate than it deserves. It was (and still is) an engineering marvel and is a truly unique park amongst a league of ballparks all vying for the same look (retro-classic), which is a good look, but in my mind just makes it "Cleveland's retro...
  2. Red October

Toronto Pan Am Village in the West Don Lands | ?m | ?s | DundeeKilmer | KPMB

This is what they'll be doing on Bloor.
  3. Red October

    Toronto West Block Est. 1928, The LakeShore, and The LakeFront | 130.75m | 41s | Choice Properties | a—A

It was either that or let it collapse. They were going to have to completely rebuild it structurally anyway.
  4. Red October

    Toronto Minto30Roe Condos | 113.08m | 34s | Minto Group | Wallman Architects

It's Jesse Ketchum Park's worst nightmare.
  5. Red October

    Toronto Sun Life Financial Tower & Harbour Plaza Residences | 236.51m | 67s | Menkes | Sweeny &Co

This is one that looks great from afar... and then you get up close to it. The office tower looks fine but those residential towers don't look great up close IMO and that podium may in fact be the worst in this city since Hudson's Bay Centre on Bloor.
  6. Red October

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

Apparently Ainslie and Augimeri pressed the wrong button.
  7. Red October

    Toronto Royal Ontario Museum | ?m | ?s | Daniel Libeskind

I say they put a noise restriction in the entire museum. Anything above a whisper and you're kicked out. Same goes for moving faster than a gentle stroll. And now that I think of it, too many patrons wear too colourful clothing. It's distracting. Everyone has to wear grey. Also nobody below...
  8. Red October

Toronto Pan Am Village in the West Don Lands | ?m | ?s | DundeeKilmer | KPMB

People also used to mix drinking water wells with sewers, what was done in the past has zero relevance in talking about what is best for the present and future. Just because the past was worse doesn't mean we should be happy with mediocrity.
  9. Red October

    Toronto Rogers Centre Renovations | ?m | ?s | Toronto Blue Jays | Populous

Difference is Jarry Park was never multi-use, whereas this is the first year the Jays are playing in a stadium that doesn't convert to football every so often. Too good to be true unfortunately.
  10. Red October

    Toronto BMO Field Renovations | ?m | ?s | MLSE | Gensler

Nobody does. What started this string of nonsense was a throw away comment by me that was part joke and didn't even really mean anything, but somehow people took that as BMO Field being "expected" to change their seats.
  11. Red October

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

This apparently should be posted once a page in here: Scarborough residents' anger is completely misplaced. Instead of the downtown Illuminati or whatever it should be directed towards Councillors De Baeremaeker and Cho for royally screwing them over and depriving them of a transit line that...
  12. Red October

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Man you are some kind of delusional. And a hall of fame-level persecution complex to boot.
  13. Red October

    Toronto's Transit Network Plan

With the Fords gone I wonder who was the 1. Mammo?
  14. Red October

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

I live in a unit with a Juliet balcony (which I'd previously said I would never do as I viewed it as half-assed), and it's fine. I have more space within my apartment to use the 8 months of the year when a balcony would go unused and in the summer I just open the door and get a good breeze. No...
  15. Red October

    Toronto BMO Field Renovations | ?m | ?s | MLSE | Gensler

Not going to be a problem.
  16. Red October

Toronto Pan Am Village in the West Don Lands | ?m | ?s | DundeeKilmer | KPMB

O...kay? Cyclists used to ride with cars all the time and were killed then too. I never said it was more dangerous, I said that sharrows are the equivalent of nothing and if Toronto wants to be the progressive city it pretends to be it should be implementing 21st century cycling infrastructure...
  17. Red October

    Toronto's Transit Network Plan

As it should be. Scarborough deserves rapid transit, but it should have gone with the LRT (would have been up and running by now) instead of letting themselves be defrauded by Councillor De Baeremaeker. The relief line is 30 years overdue and the East Bayfront is going to very soon be...
  18. Red October

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Aeroquay One would have been a little in the way.
  19. Red October

    Toronto 65 King Street East | 82.9m | 18s | Carttera | WZMH

Seriously that Albany Club comment is laughable.
