  1. Red October

    Toronto skyline

From a friend: "Working late sucks, but it has its perks." (it's just a basic iPhone picture, so not the greatest quality)
  2. Red October

    Pickering Airport (Transport Canada/GTAA, Proposed)

I for one support Thayendanegea International Airport.

    New Transit Funding Sources

Mammo is a weasel. The city would be better off if he left forever. Anyway as much as I criticize Tory this is a step in the right direction, though I personally support a congestion charge more than highway tolls (as that would take away the whole "use Lakeshore instead of the Gardiner" cheat).

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

While they're doing the restoration work in the Great Hall, can they update the chandelier/lighting? The current orange glow from one undersized light fixture is baaaad. It's so dark in there compared to other Union/Central stations.

TTC: St. Clair Streetcar Right Of Way

The problem is that business owners apparently have no idea where their business comes from.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

I saw TWO of them on the 509 Harbourfront route today!

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

It would have been better if they had the balls to just not have the on-street parking.
  8. Red October

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I was going to comment on this too. Like Mammo, GDB can't resist some good face time on camera!

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Luckily subway construction (unlike LRT construction) doesn't tear up lanes of traffic on the roads. /s

    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

I'm okay with keeping come of the "historic" train shed, but I wish the ratio of glass-to-shed was higher. It will still seem dark in a lot of it. The green roof will really improve the look of it from above, at least.
  11. Red October

    Toronto skyline

    That would be baller.

TTC: Cherry Street reconstruction and streetcar trackage (City of Toronto/TTC, U/C)

I don't get why they didn't just do this, it's not like it's that expensive to put a bit of red lines on the pavement.

Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport | ?m | ?s | Ports Toronto | Arup

A drone at 9000 feet? Do regular consumer drones even fly that high? I always found they couldn't go higher than 2000.

    Transit Fantasy Maps

It's easier to make a "more full" looking metro network when you have every direction to branch out, as opposed to Toronto where you have half that. Amazingly this actually makes me feel better about Toronto's network, because it seems to actually be more far-reaching than others. Yes it would...

Toronto Spadina Subway Extension Emergency Exits | ?m | 1s | TTC | IBI Group

Almost like most "fiscal conservatives" don't actually save anybody any money.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Hopefully they keep at least one of the old CLRV/ALRVs for the Halton County Radial Railway.

    Evocative Images of Lost Toronto

Hey guys! While over for Thanksgiving my grandmother-in-law (is that a thing?) showed us this picture, which is apparently where her brother lived in Toronto before moving to the States. She thinks it is from the 50's, but I figured here would be the perfect place to post it, because I just know...

    Toronto Grange Park | ?m | ?s

Personally I don't think the font on a sub-caption on a park sign will be the difference between Toronto being an Alpha World City and an Alpha+ World City, but that's just me.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

I'm so f***ing done with trolley poles. Goddamn you, Bombardier, I want the damn pantographs already.
