TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Speaking of pantographs... Spotted this on the 509 Harbourfront this morning: Photo by me. Of note, the next one (and one going the other way) was using the plain old trolley pole.

Post your pictures of Toronto here!

It took a scary lean-over-the-railing to get this picture of the Fleet streetcar loop this weekend. Photo by me.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

DMW is probably the worst of the bad city councillors for holding this city back. This city will be much better off when he's gone.

    Toronto The Residences of 488 University Avenue | 206.95m | 55s | Amexon | Core Architects

I disagree. Not every corner needs some high density tower on it. I like that a historic museum house is in such a high profile spot. Contributes towards showing that Toronto actually does have some history aside from glass towers.

From Sunday's Ride for Heart: Not the greatest quality as it was taken on a phone in the rain from a moving bike! :P

    Toronto Ten York Street Condos | 224.02m | 65s | Tridel | Wallman Architects

As terrible as it looks 2016 was at least warm (about 18-19 degrees) and not raining (at least during the ride). Yesterday was cold rain. But yeah I thought it was cool that they really look similar.

From yesterday's Ride for Heart: Photos by me.

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

Not a "then and now" like we're used to, but still a pretty cool look at the 1-year progress of Southcore, from pictures I took on last year's Ride for Heart as well as yesterday: 2016: 2017:

    Toronto Ten York Street Condos | 224.02m | 65s | Tridel | Wallman Architects

Pretty cool "then and now" showing the progress of 10 York, from pictures I took on last year's Ride for Heart as well as yesterday: 2016: 2017:

It could just be a wire reflecting the light from the street.

    Toronto Waterfront Innovation Centre | 53.03m | 11s | Waterfront Toronto | Sweeny &Co

This is atrocious. It just keeps getting worse and worse.

Toronto CN Tower: Entry Pavilion, Plaza, Renos | ?m | ?s | CLC | Arcadis

Oh no, after 40 years of the same thing they decided to add something else to draw people (which it has), make a buttload of money (which it has), and make it talked-about again (which it has) since it has dropped down the tallest list... Why would they ever make a good decision like that?

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

Nice!! This is a great "spot the differences". Biggest thing that catches my eye (among all the others) is that TD Centre isn't yet complete.

I don't know about the building, but semi-related: that section of Bloor from the Value Village until Symington is teeerrriiibbblleeeee.

    Toronto skyline

It has the first two Waterpark Place buildings, which were built in 1986 and 1989, so you'd be correct.

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

blogTO has a really good "Then & Now" piece on the Wheat Sheaf Tavern at King and Bathurst up right now. Opened in 1849, it has miraculously kept its same name for its entire existence. Also a cool fact - it only got its now-famous mansard roof in 1905...

    Evocative Images of Lost Toronto

Is that the First Canadian Place podium now (the building with the tower)? I'd say it was a bad loss for just a podium, but if that's the site then it was actually replaced first by the Art Deco Bank of Montreal building. http://skyscraperpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=200644&page=2
