    Hamilton Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Just a correction, the B-Line runs at 7.5 minute frequencies during peak times. The non-express "Route 1" which shares alignment runs at 6 minute peak frequencies.

    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

Most of the non-TTC transit agencies do an okay job. They all have fare integration with each other.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Well at least it will have local bus service soon: http://www.hamiltontransit.ca/44-rymal-to-serve-confederation-go-starting-december-29th/

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I'm not one for technicalities, haha

    Hamilton Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Yeah, it would be great to have more limited-stop express bus routes in Hamilton.

    Hamilton Hamilton Line B LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I wouldn't read too much into this. The list of projects is lifted right from the 2041 RTP which categorizes projects as "LRT/BRT" or "priority bus".

York Region Transit: Viva service thread

They don't have a PDF schedule for Viva like they do for the local routes. They haven't for years IIRC but I don't understand why.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

It's crazy that less than 2 years ago, this project was "on track" for completion in 2019! https://globalnews.ca/news/4013959/confederation-go-station-transit/

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I feel like this article gets written monthly.

York Region Transit: Viva service thread

In December, the Centre/Bathurst section of the Highway 7 Rapidway will open. This means that the majority of the Viva Orange route will operate in a dedicated bus lane (at least in 1 direction). Some argue the low frequency along this route makes it difficult to justify the price of...

    YRT/Viva Construction Thread (Rapidways, Terminals)

Looks like it opened today after all! https://www.yrt.ca/en/news/highway-7-west-rapidway-now-open-from-commerce-to-wigwoss-helen.aspx

407 Rail Freight Bypass/The Missing Link

From a quick scan, it seems like Metrolinx is saying they can get the same benefit at half the cost by working with the Halton Sub vs. the new "407 Sub"

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

These business cases always annoy me for this reason. It feels like Metrolinx first decides what they want to do, and then justifies it by comparing it to flawed options. "Option 3" does seem like it would be the best but it's weighed down by the requirement for hourly all-day service to Niagara...

Latest GO Train update for the period April–September. The last edition of this update was for the April–July period. https://blog.metrolinx.com/2019/11/15/track-your-station-updated-go-transit-ridership-map-shows-continued-growth-across-the-network/

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Any location is Grimsby would be inaccessible to residence without a car because the city has no public transit... Until that changes, it makes way more sense to have the bus stop next to a parking lot, even if it's close to the edge of the city. The point is to take cars off of the highway.

    FYI, it's GO route 12, not 20.

    Transit Fantasy Maps

Yeah, maybe a more Toronto-focused version of this GO Transit map. If you look closely, all day service is a solid line and peak-only is dashed. In the future, solid line could be 15 minute service and dashed could be 30–60 minute on the TTC map.

    Hamilton: General Service Discussion

That would be cool. A SmartTrack-like super-express service through Hamilton. The issue of course is that the track is the CN mainline and what sort of frequency you would be able to run. Plus the 9km Centennial–WH journey would probably take around 15 minutes with just 2 intermediate stops...

    Hamilton: General Service Discussion

Thank you for the added details. To be honest, I missed in your original post that idea #1 was targeting 2041 (I was thinking 2021). The hot topic in Hamilton that I've noticed is "why don't we have all day GO trains, NOW"? As far as I know, there are no (or few) express trains on LW outside of...

    Hamilton: General Service Discussion

Thanks for writing this up, I found you're proposals very interesting. Some of those ideas are very bold and far-sighted but that's no reason not to discuss. Although this is an unpopular opinion, personally I don't think that all-day GO train to Hamilton is a priority given the capabilities...
