    Toronto Sun Life Financial Tower & Harbour Plaza Residences | 236.51m | 67s | Menkes | Sweeny &Co

I have to agree with Big Daddy on this one, assuming the render is anything close to reality. We can only hope this is a very preliminary sketch, and they actually find an architect with some vision to design something other than a tall box.

    Toronto 88 Scott Street | 203.9m | 58s | Concert | P + S / IBI

This building is a nice break from a lot of the highrises we have seen lately. I like it. It will fit in nicely.

Shanghai is similar in innovatiion and outside the box ,in their later high rise construction. It makes you wonder why a bit of this hasn't been done in TO yet. It would be a nice surprise to see a new design with a little panache.

650 Bay St Boutique Hotel Redevelopment (Lanterra, ?s, ?)

It must be getting to the point where painting can't be done because of temperature. This may sit until spring before it gets it's exterior finished.

    Toronto Ten York Street Condos | 224.02m | 65s | Tridel | Wallman Architects

By the time this is started 4 years from now, the skyline and construction will make this area much different than it is now. Maybe this tower won't stand out as much as the render shows, in fact it may fit in quite nicely. All the Art Vandalay's out there may have a much better grasp of...

Love the photo. How long was the shutter open to get that? Desktop for me.

    Toronto One Bloor East | 257.24m | 76s | Great Gulf | Hariri Pontarini

Something strange going on here. No evidence of much progress in weeks, not much happening now. Makes you wonder if there is some sort of permit issue, or forgive me, money problems. All the hype abnd then nothing. If I bought one of the units, I'd be asking for some answers.

    Toronto Karma Condos | 165.8m | 50s | Lifetime | a—A

There doesn't appear to be a slow down in condo sales if that lineup is any indication. Imagine when the economy gets itself out of the doldrums. It's hard to believe economies around the world are in as bad a shape as they are when you see the boom in construction in TO , and sales like this...

    Toronto One Bloor East | 257.24m | 76s | Great Gulf | Hariri Pontarini

It's becoming apparent steel doesn't grow very fast at Yonge & Bloor. There is enough fertilizer around there, so that can't be the problem.

Toronto St Regis Toronto Hotel and Residences | 281.93m | 58s | JFC Capital | Zeidler

Great photos. Different angles, aperture and focus all create something a little unique and present us with something outside the stock photos a lot of people take. Keep up the good work. Your photos make people look at buildings in a different and interesting light.

650 Bay St Boutique Hotel Redevelopment (Lanterra, ?s, ?)

cassius, you're right, is is hard to tell what exactly is going on. It's obvious from the photos the brown coloured brick is the preserved part, but it appears from a distance that it has been done by removing the old white paint. I gather they are actually painting the white bits with brick...

    Toronto One Bloor East | 257.24m | 76s | Great Gulf | Hariri Pontarini

IT doesn't look much different than a week ago, if the pictures are anything to go by. Lot's of prep work I,m sure.

650 Bay St Boutique Hotel Redevelopment (Lanterra, ?s, ?)

Is there any updated photos of the wonderful tile work being done? I remember scaffolding was erected, but there was no sign of work.

    Toronto Charlie Condos | 122.83m | 36s | Great Gulf | Diamond Schmitt

It's a rather boring mass of green glass. There must have been a sale of this stuff at "contractors are us". It's time to start thinking outside the box.

    Toronto One Bedford | ?m | 32s | Lanterra | KPMB

It will be interesting to find out what the actual problem was, and if it is at all tied to shoddy foreign production. Maybe buying goods from the cheapest source is not always the best option. Also, are other buildings under construction contracted to use the same material. I'm sure this is all...

    Toronto Ripley's Aquarium of Canada | 13.11m | 2s | Ripley Entertainment | B+H

Danger Bay day at the Aquarium. I can see it now. All 7 fans, who still remember Ocean, show up to reminisce. Now i might even show up for that one. That would make 8. I still have a "thing" for the Ocean.

    Toronto Ripley's Aquarium of Canada | 13.11m | 2s | Ripley Entertainment | B+H

Marko, good idea. Maybe someone can assure us that it is indeed, a worthwhile endeavor. $130 mill is a lot of money, but i'm still not convinced this is any better than the aquarium at Mandalay Bay in Vegas. That was ok and we were in and out in less than an hour. Fish swimming all around as...

    Toronto Ripley's Aquarium of Canada | 13.11m | 2s | Ripley Entertainment | B+H

I agree with Ripley's and the carnival atmosphere. Mutant sea creatures and plastic fish, and with any luck Moby Dick and that giant Squid from 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. The lobby could have wax models of weird marine life, like Sponge Bob. I'm not taking this aquarium serious at all...

    Toronto One Bloor East | 257.24m | 76s | Great Gulf | Hariri Pontarini

Dagnabit, it looks like a construction site. I'm goin out to get a new foil suit, and a new hat with better reception.

Drilling a hole in the ground does not constitute construction. When the trucks show up and start removing dirt to make the hole bigger, then maybe. Right now they are just stringing everyone along, and passing time while the good weather is passing them by. Something strange going on with this...
