I have to agree with Big Daddy on this one, assuming the render is anything close to reality. We can only hope this is a very preliminary sketch, and they actually find an architect with some vision to design something other than a tall box.

This building is a nice break from a lot of the highrises we have seen lately. I like it. It will fit in nicely.

Shanghai is similar in innovatiion and outside the box ,in their later high rise construction. It makes you wonder why a bit of this hasn't been done in TO yet. It would be a nice surprise to see a new design with a little panache.

Something strange going on here. No evidence of much progress in weeks, not much happening now. Makes you wonder if there is some sort of permit issue, or forgive me, money problems. All the hype abnd then nothing. If I bought one of the units, I'd be asking for some answers.

It's becoming apparent steel doesn't grow very fast at Yonge & Bloor. There is enough fertilizer around there, so that can't be the problem.

Great photos. Different angles, aperture and focus all create something a little unique and present us with something outside the stock photos a lot of people take. Keep up the good work. Your photos make people look at buildings in a different and interesting light.

cassius, you're right, is is hard to tell what exactly is going on. It's obvious from the photos the brown coloured brick is the preserved part, but it appears from a distance that it has been done by removing the old white paint. I gather they are actually painting the white bits with brick...

I agree with Ripley's and the carnival atmosphere. Mutant sea creatures and plastic fish, and with any luck Moby Dick and that giant Squid from 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. The lobby could have wax models of weird marine life, like Sponge Bob. I'm not taking this aquarium serious at all...
