TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

The unfortunate reality is they have a stockpile of cars in Thunder Bay... but they are just missing a few parts that are needed before they can be shipped.

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

Technically speaking the line won't be completed until after the testing is done. But they have achieved "substantial completion" of the entire system

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

If any part of Bombardier is going to go tits up its Aerospace. Bombardier Transportation is doing just fine. Metrolinx didn't bail on them. Metrolinx got caught trying to unlawfully break from a contract because they ordered more vehicles than they needed from Bombardier and just wanted a...

Metrolinx: Bombardier Flexity Freedom & Alstom Citadis Spirit LRVs

They had a wonderful opportunity to modify their order to 7-module Flexities when they were negotiating with Bombardier but instead they stuck with 5-module Flexities

Presto also didn't meet the qualifications required for the GRT system as it didn't offer support for key GRT fare products. Powered testing outside of the OMSF should be starting either next week or the week after. They needed 3 operational vehicles to do it and they have them now.

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

Presto doesn't respond to RFPs, and didn't at the time offer what the Region wanted for Fare integration with GRT so they tendered out to Scheidt & Bachmann Canada

MTX also has until November 2018 to ensure that they can actually be delivered to Mt. Dennis. Bombardier is already more than capable of meeting their delivery obligations.

Metrolinx: Bombardier Flexity Freedom & Alstom Citadis Spirit LRVs

No as has already been established Metrolinx ordered the Eglinton Freedoms with single cabs as they'll almost always be paired together.

Likely cancelled. Likely to refit and sell the dual-cab pilot to Waterloo for cheap. Especially since Metrolinx basically did nothing with it, including acknowledging its existence.

Metrolinx: Bombardier Flexity Freedom & Alstom Citadis Spirit LRVs

There will be no Flexity Outlooks manufactured out of Kingston. The entire purpose of moving the Flexity Freedom production from Thunder Bay to Kingston was to start a second Outlook line in TB while having a plant dedicated to Freedoms. There is absolutely no room in Kingston's production...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

Bombardier management likely had every expectation that they would have met the targets for TTC streetcar delivery had their suppliers met their contracted parts delivery schedule. It became more apparent to Bombardier's management the closer to the end of the year we got that that their...

Metrolinx: Bombardier Flexity Freedom & Alstom Citadis Spirit LRVs

I believe they already started the roof assembly (which is actually the first step) on the Edmonton order a month or so ago. Edmonton's will take a little longer to build because they're 7 modules but it's not much of an issue. The plan is for 10 Edmonton LRVs before July so after that they'll...

They are still fully assembled and operational. They are being rotated through the testing and tweaking they are doing with the ION vehicles in Kingston.

TTC: 61/204. The 61st vehicle is in transit with the 60th being unloaded yesterday. ION: 4/14 The 4th vehicle has been sitting in Waterloo for about almost a week waiting for Grandlinq to unload it. There's another 6+ vehicles in Kingston being tested extensively at the request of the region...

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

They can't run revenue service 24 hours a day but they can run a couple ghost trains at night in the winter months by using the northbound track on the Waterloo spur for bidirectional traffic while freight uses the southbound track.

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

The Union for Bombardier workers in Thunder Bay says a total of 61 cars have left the plant on or before New Year's Eve and that had they not experienced parts shortages they would have met the revised revised revised target of 63 or more...
