    Yorkdale Shopping Centre

I would definitely like a Lego store but if Yorkdale is looking to distinguish itself from other malls, then it can still go mid range/upper end without a Hollister and A&F. Just my opinion. I don't want to see only ultra high end either - I'd still like to be able to shop there :)

And I'd be disappointed if those were the stores that are going to open after the 16th in 2013 or whenever.

Toronto non-mall retail (Odds & Ends)

Hmm - I must have missed it then. Good to know.

Do you have any inside info as to who the rumoured stores are?

Toronto non-mall retail (Odds & Ends)

It may be - I didn't see it when I was in the area but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. There's already a Stussy on Richmond so maybe that's the one you might be referring to.

    Yorkdale Shopping Centre

So perhaps a silly question, but with the grand opening being November 16th, there is a list of about 15 stores that are currently slated to open - my question is, are ALL 40 stores opening on the 16th or will the rest be announced later? My understanding was that everything was opening on the...

Looks like Retail-Insider has also got a hold of the news... http://www.retail-insider.com/2012/11/van-cleef-arpels-opening-toronto-store_8.html If I had to guess, I would say a TAG and/or Tissot boutique. I'm also of the understanding that Roberto Coin has grabbed one of the retail spaces...

Okay, thanks, good to know. So there's a definite possibility for an outside separate entrance.

So the whole basement will be VC&A? I agree - would be nice to see a street presence too but that doesn't seem likely if the shop will be in the basement. By the way, I'm curious, how do you find these postings of alterations and building permits? Is it on the City of Toronto website?

Not sure if this has ever been posted but Nestle Tollhouse Cafe is opening in the Metro Hall PATH.

I would suspect major renos considering Bloomingdales is pretty upscale and that Bay is a bit of a dump right now.

Not sure what's moving in but the landlord wanted a more prestigious retailer to be next to the Four Seasons. Makes sense in my opinion. Plus with the redevelopment proposal of Cumberland Terrace (can't happen soon enough if you ask me) those spots would have been taken by someone else anyway.

So the store opening on Avenue near Prince Arthur (in the old Floriane I believe) is in fact something called Monnalisa. Seems pretty exclusive - here's a link to their website: http://portal.monnalisa.eu/about_the_group_en/company_profile_en-US/corporate_en-US.aspx

The very short-lived Ktichen Stuff Plus at Yonge and Dundas now has a building permit up in the window specifying retail. Not sure who yet but my guess is Puma, as that is what I had heard a while ago. Nothing to confirm that though.
