^Am I seeing this correctly? Top slab has been poured at the west end but a little more formwork and concrete pour to come towards the east end?

March 21 They saved two trees! It does look a lot cleaner.

Now I’m even more curious. What do they need this space for? Moving current “Operations” between Jarvis and Sherbourne to here? How will they leave it? What’s next for this area? Bridge over tracks for access. @WB62

At one point were the louvres on the sides of the train platform atrium glass that let light through? It looks like an industrial vent now.

Metrolinx confirmed to me that the USEP construction trailers are moving to this area so the new tracks can be installed.

Maybe they should have installed the south side PATH bridge over Yonge for easy access.

After seeing Jane Goodall last year at Meridian Hall and National Geographic Live: Nalini Nadkarni yesterday at Roy Thompson Hall, I am becoming a bit of a tree hugger.

I just didn’t want to walk in this area. A little reforestation will be good. Or maybe a new building or Alto station.

If all goes to plan, one day this area should have a elevated PATH junction to CIBC Square South/bus terminal, Union Station east platforms, Backstage/CIBC north, Pinnacle and the future eastern PATH districts, hopefully with a street level entrance.

Yes, but that PATH link is years away and will be slung below the Gardiner so there can still be plants on the ground.

Question: there's a lot of defunct exits with their portals still left visible on many of the platforms at Union. Is there any plan in place to reinstate any of these? Exiting a train at rush hour is absolutely excruciating, this station was built for a town of 100k people. Every single additional egress point from the ridiculously narrow platforms would be quite welcome.
