Toronto 11 YV | 221.91m | 66s | Metropia | Sweeny &Co

It's got the height but it doesn't have the looks. For those that bought here, it seems like a descent building but the criticism is based on comparing it to better local designers and top tier design in architecture, which Toronto should continue to push for. For example, the buildings next door and nearby by local firm Aa are much better in my opinion.
I personally think what aA did with Eight Cumberland is utterly bland with a terrible mechanical roof and a rehash of the same building they could have designed in 2005. The Four Seasons, on the other hand, is a much more interesting building. This design could certainly have used better materials - a refrain heard for years about Toronto buildings- but actually has some character.

Appearances are invariably a subjective thing I just reviewed the last several pages to see people's takes and I would call the reviews 'mixed bag'. A few liking it, a few less so..... a lot of 'could be better, could be worse'.
I'm in the "Like" camp, as I have written before. For one thing, setbacks are almost always a welcome feature on a skyscraper, and 11YV is quite visually compelling besides. I think skycandy's pic from post 1,239 captures the building at its best. SkylineHorizons's pic (bottom) also makes a strong favourable case, but as you noted, aesthetics are subjective.

Out of 11 Yorkville, 8 Cumberland, and 1 Yorkville, I would say my favourite exterior design is 11 Yorkville, as mentioned I like the setbacks and I like the darker theme on the glass and panels its something different.

But I can not say the same for the interiors, in my opinion the layouts at 11 Yorkville are much worse then 1 Yorkville and 8 Cumberland, they are so small and really were not thought out at all, other then for the developers to maximize on their profits.

The finishes at 11YV are decent, you were able to select a decent range of hardwood flooring and kitchen finishes. You are at least getting name brand appliances (Miele) but very small ones lol.

If you were to put the 11YV finishes in 1 Yorkville or 8 Cumberland I think more people would gravitate to them because they have better layouts and I say better very loosely lol. But still for me, I wouldn't recommend purchasing in any of these building right now.

Also if any of you guys have passed by this location these 3 towers share the same laneway to get in and out of the buildings, its complete chaos at all hours of the day, imagine over 1000 units sharing one small driveway to get in and out, residence, ambulances, police, contractors, door dash all coming in and out all the time.

Why do you post stuff like this?
Think it's time to join the (un)Dead family... I too am baffled what their AI deep dive factoids found ... actually mean.

Great Insta though.
