Toronto Berczy Park Revitalization | ?m | ?s

I think the spray will be appreciated during the summer. Spring and fall? Not so much, I guess.

What water fountain is on a windy day?

Thanks for a dose of reality. Love it! Fountains use water. Standing next to one here, there or anywhere in the world can get you wet.

Dems dat don't like it, dems dat can stay home. Me, I can wait for Summer and the crowds that will flock to Berczy to see what can be done when the City puts its thinking cap on. Bravo !

Off when I stopped by yesterday afternoon:

That cat looks POSSESSED!

Is there a dog missing on the eastern side of the second tier? It looks like there is a big space there. Maybe they can squeeze in a little Yorkie there!

@ Edward Skira, that actually looks way worse than what I saw today. It makes me understand why the Four Seasons decided not to make their fountain functional. Besides turning the whole area into an unintentional water park, the wet spots make the area look a bit dingy.

Right, Toronto is way ahead of the global curve when it comes to fountains. That sounds like us!

I'm sure the Four Seasons don't have a functional fountain because it was cheaper, and they knew they could get away with it in Toronto.

It's been pretty well documented that the Four Seasons were against dousing their guests—who are paying about $700 a night or so—with spray from the fountain, hence its new use as Toronto's largest bird bath.

At least one day here during testing we saw just how much area can be soaked by fountain spray in the wind, and while the Four Seasons was to have only one jet (I believe), being so much closer to a tall building in a courtyard setting, winds there would be far less predictable.
