    TTC: Easier Access Phase III

This is more of a "secondary access points" instead of accessibility post. However, open railway map makes it easy to look at the TTC system with in the context of the city and map out potential secondary access points. For example: At St Patrick station a northern entrance at Edward St. At...

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

I mean the true elephant in the room is that the federal government encourages rail travel through subsidies and DIScourages air travel for short to medium distance travel. However the environment 'right now' is that the feds overwhelmingly support air travel over rail travel.

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

LMAO. We are arguing about a second station in Toronto but suddenly we want to add a second station in Peterborough (all 130k population Peterborough?). An airport station and, presumably, a downtown station?

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

Milano Centrale to Roma Termini is 479 km by rail (according to chat gpt. 570 km by car according to google maps) and Trenitalia is able to run non stop service between the two in about 3 hrs

Alto - High Speed Rail (Toronto-Quebec City)

Yes DC Oshawa Station to union station or Peterborough are both roughly 1 hr by car. However the point of having a shoulder station is to make the outer extremities of the region easily accessible. Having Peterborough as the easter GTA station, you are asking people to add an hour to their...

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

Porter operates out of both Hamilton YHM and Toronto YYZ. So I'd assume any diversion from YTZ would head to whichever one of YHM/YYZ had the capacity to accept the aircraft and which would cause the least amount of disruption to the fight operations.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

Even a generous count of 3 subway projects is easily countable. Have I missed the sarcasm

Highway 401 Transit and Auto Tunnel

As much as I like the idea of double decking the 401. I cannot imagine the engineering logistics of threading the viaduct through some of the more complex interchanges along the highway. For example the 404/DVP interchange. The 401 goes under Don MIlls, 404/DVP, and Victoria park. The...

    GO 2.0 Expansion Plan

Outside of improving the existing line to Hamilton/Toronto, what other lines do you suggest serve Niagara Falls? Niagara Falls to Welland? I do think that there could be a market for a Welland line following the canal and serving Port Colbourne, Welland, Thorold, and St Catherines. Though I...

    GO 2.0 Expansion Plan

My GO Future Plan (GFP) Electrification of all lines within the boundaries of the amalgamated city of Toronto Addition of infill stations within the city of Toronto. I earmarked stop spacing of about 2-3 km per station within Toronto. This puts the stations conveniently at Toronto ~2km apart...

    GO 2.0 Expansion Plan

Clearly the issue is the cars aren't executing the zipper merge properly /S I've been saying this for years. As much if not more than the midtown line. This line would make E-W travel insanely more convenient.

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

This is still on the Lakeshore subdivision which doesn't really help people heading west on the Kitchener line

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

Typical GTA shortsightedness. "Why put a GO station there when there's already one about 1 Km away". Well because they are on two different lines, and sure when you are heading to the DT core it makes no difference but when heading out to the 'burbs they don't.
