Agree and wondering if there’ll be a dip in the broadview extension so that trucks that crash into the top of these new bridges. That said a dip in a low lying flood prone area seems like a silly engineering decision but we shall see!
I basically critique Metrolinx on about 80% of what they do…. This bridge is NOT an example that I would criticize but rather applaud Mx for the first time in a while…. The bridge is gonna be a cool feature for the city (especially when it’s lit up at night) and become another landmark for our...
Yes the OL project is proceeding well - but so did the Crosstown, initially. My bigger concern is that European cities build fully underground Subways (with stations featuring stunning finishes) at a cost of $250-$350MM per km CAD and yet we accept that Metrolinx builds basic, sterile projects...
Or perhaps it’s another example and reason why p3 projects don’t work and cost 3x more than they ought too. I’ve watched work be done, undone, redone, and then undone again over and over and then we wonder how we’re at $1BN+ a km when it ought to cost $350MM a km
Yes not huge but there will be a street level “station” box off of Eastern in the snips below….Definitely not Union Station scale whatsoever but definitely a station box fronting onto Eastern as per the snips attached. That said I have no idea what that “plaza” area is (The large grey area...
I asked that same QQ…They never built it as a bridge and will have to dig out the Eastern portion. Brilliant Metrolinx techniques at work as per usual…
WOOT WOOT! Unable to find anything that confirms this so pls do share when you can share any source material. This deal would transform the perceived value of the outstanding units and hopefully drive more businesses to come to Riverside Square. I can’t believe how excited this makes me lol
Cool photos of the pours… Does anybody have the technical explanation for why Eastern is being built so differently? Seems odd to have such differences between Eastern, Queen and Dundas/Logan? I get the bigger girders at Queen to support the upcoming station but why is Eastern fully concrete...
