    PM Mark Carney's Canada

Exactly the type of corrupt, cronyist nonsense people would've lost their minds about if it was Ford or PP doing it. Hope the same level of criticism and scrutiny is applied when it's the "good guys" that are doing it.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Because the Ontario line doesn't go where they're going. The line won't even run west of Bathurst on Queen in the first place, and it certainly wouldn't be a smart use of time to head up to line 2 and then use whatever feeder bus is at the nearest station.

MiWay drivers do this regularly at Square One.

And if they had put up maps with only the 6 on them, and had to reprint them a month or two later with the 5 on it, you guys would be complaining at how much money they're wasting.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

People think of streetcars as being for long distance because that's how the route network is designed. I think that you're overstating just how transformative the Ontario line will be. We're not building a network here, it is one line, and it will have its target audience in the areas where...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

This doesn't seem at all realistic. There's always going to be a certain group of passengers who will need to travel from one side of the "divide" to the other, and despite the mixed traffic stretch, there's no way it will be more economical, time wise, to get out, travel into the deep caverns...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

No worries. And here's the averages for yesterday (Tuesday, December 2), going westbound: And eastbound: Nothing all that dramatically different, seems like a pretty standard deviation for random acts of chance. The one odd thing is that the low numbers are skewed by a trip unhelpfully...

Christmas Day? As in a day when the politicos who simply *must* be there to give their vapid speeches will want to be at home with their families?

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I haven't been to Kennedy in forever, does anyone have any pics of what the platforms look like now? Hard to believe they'd actually be so stupid as to actively remove constructed infrastructure, but you never know with these clowns at the helm.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I doubt it, as the 36 doesn't terminate at Humber College there would be no need to have recovery time there. I assume it's a combination of two factors: one being that much like the LRT schedule, the bus schedule features excessive padding at times that does not reflect the true reality on...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I'm going to do something a little crazy here, and provide actual numbers and data, something which this thread has been appallingly light on in the last while. TransSee offers average travel time data. It's a free feature for streetcar routes, and a premium feature for buses. Here is what it...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Without comparing the price per kilometre costs for a new subway, that's a meaningless statistic in the context of transit construction in Toronto. LRT may be expensive, but there's no chance the price of LRT has ballooned while subway has remained fixed. So it stands to reason that a Finch...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I'm not sure trivial is an accurate word. This morning it took my train 3 minutes to get from Union to King, which is pretty bad. And then there was some kind of undeclared slow zone from King to Queen, too.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

All very true, but I would also add that even a slower LRT is unlikely to tip the scale in terms of people being pushed away, at least if those making the decision are remotely reasonable individuals. That's not to say that we shouldn't try to mine as much speed out of the infrastructure as is...
