Agreed. Even if the design remains the same, I'll see this as a win.

    TTC/Metrolinx: Scarborough Subway Extension

A lot of my friends in Scarborough didn't realize the SSE meant the end of the RT. They're going to miss it. I will too. Hopefully they can make good use of the space.

I don't recall Skytrain technology nor an elevated Union Station stop being part of the plans. Do you have a source for this?

    2022 43rd Ontario general election (June 2, 2022)

Why do they feel this way? I'm sure there are voters who feel hopeless. I also think there are people who were fine with this government continuing on for another four years. Ultimately the situation will be hopeless if people don't exercise their right to vote.

Of course - that's where funding and support is required. The DRL was in the Network 2011 plan. I don't think the city cancelled it.

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Extension (Proposed)

He didn't start anything. He delayed everything.

    2022 43rd Ontario general election (June 2, 2022)

This is not a surprising outcome. We can try and point fingers at less progressive groups or ideas, but the fact is a lot of people were generally happy with the Conservatives, and Horwath and Del Duca ran lousy campaigns. These things are cyclical. By the next election people may tire of the...

Not a fan of the base, but the tower looks fantastic. Wouldn't have guessed this is a rental building.

That should definitely be a high traffic interchange station. We also need a station that's just Doug's personal cell phone number, because we all know anyone can call anytime and he'll take care of it.

TTC: Bloor Danforth Line 2 West Extension(s)

It may seem like ancient history, but the discussion around the SSE and transit expansion was significantly different than it is now. Justification for the extension revolved around future growth, and eliminating an unfair transfer. Scarborough had an elevated rail line that would operational...

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Extension (Proposed)

I disagree. Residential, and more importantly, commercial density is a necessary ingredient for a successful subway. Extending Line 2 to Stouffville really doesn't make much sense. That's what GO service is for.

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Extension (Proposed)

And yet ridership over the past few decades has never come close to what they expected when the line was originally conceived. I'm not sure I'd qualify what currently exists as 'huge density'. There's certainly more than before, but nothing that necessitates a subway line. For me it doesn't...

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Extension (Proposed)

The new development is great but it's still nowhere near what's necessary to make the subway worthwhile. It's hard to see that changing in that particular area. There's just so many family homes and I don't think people are keen for that to change. I know people argue it's because the line is...

I don't disagree with much of this, however if Toronto had managed to retain much of its heritage instead of razing it I think we'd find the city much more attractive. This is why integrating the Unilever plant is a must, IMO.
