In the view of the Barrie line where it goes north toward the site of the Bloor-Lansdowne GO station, after the 'grubbing' there's more space on both sides of the existing track than I thought.
I had assumed the new second track would simply go along the east side of the existing one. But...
I think that's extremely unlikely. For most of these projects, it seems some work is done, stopped, then nothing happens again for months.

It's cruel and immoral to leave people with severe brain disorders out there wandering around on their own, when they are obviously incapable of caring for themselves, or are dangerous to themselves (or others) when they're staggering out into traffic or repeatedly climbing onto the subway...
If having the runway extend to the west would be better, the idea mentioned in the 2015 report to Air Canada was building a new runway south of the present one, which would then become a parallel taxiway, though that would cost more.
