    2018 Provincial Election Transit Promises

I wonder where they got 275,000; I think it's smaller than that, since Vaucluse total has barely have a million. In any case, Avignon proper has fewer than 100,000 people- like a St. Catharines. It's not even a very dense city by French standards, the city of 100,000 seems to have similar...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

The Perth transit pilot is really interesting to me for the kinds of reasons you discuss. Stratford and Kitchener are poorly connected by transit considering how integrated economically they are. That's true in turn for Stratford and London. From KW, someone in Perth could have excellent options...

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

Its terminus will be downtown Galt. It serves all three former towns that comprise Cambridge. Edit: Or comes close, anyway. I don't know how far north the boundary between North Galt and Hespeler was fifty years ago, but I think it was Pinebush. I also guess that Blair is not being served.

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

I'm sorry to tell you that the grocery store in question (J&B) closed back in the summer. But I think your description of things and what is happening downtown is very apt. There are a few places where this is true, in particular downtown where the line splits to avoid taking King. Generally...

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

I'm not a native Kitchenerite, but I've come to love the street pattern. It makes the city a lot more interesting than my hometown's relatively ordered grid. It feels more organic and human.

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

That picture isn't very close to crush load. Crush load is extremely uncomfortable, with practically no space between passengers. No seat would be left empty. Plenty of riders at each stop would be opting not to get on a crush-loaded car. I haven't experienced crush loading on the Ion, but I...

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

According to the service plans in the project agreement, peak headway should be eight minutes starting this September. It's only due to these reliability issues that that won't be happening- as soon as they're addressed, it will. Current frequency (10 minutes) will seem pretty poor from a...
