They have really been at it with demolishing the interiors. Lots of material being taken away every day. Now it looks like they are about to start tearing the buildings down.

Simply changing the material for the balconies would have changed this entire project. There would still be other issues, but this is the biggest one that would have the largest impact.

So they put a new screen on the CityTV building, but didn't bother to get rid of the rust on the structure supporting it? I get it's hiding a lot of it now which is good, but still.

Do we know when demolition will start on the other building so they can start phase 2?

Wow, are those the balcony slabs sticking off the top floor? They are even tinier than I thought they'd be if so.

So it's to contain vapour? Why is this not done on other buildings then? What's special about this building construction that they had to use it?

I'm sure this has been asked and answered, but why are they using black tarp on the exteriors while it's under construction? I don't recall ever seeing a building in Toronto do this before.

Ya, I definitely disagree with this sentiment as well. Downtown is extremely livable. There are pockets of downtown that need improvement. East of Yonge and south of Carlton to like King St. E would be one area that needs improvement. I think it's coming though with all the new development, it...

I had a feeling this was the case, but the pics I looked at I couldn't tell. Thanks for clarifying!

All of the renderings show three buildings, but it mentions the project is four buildings. Are there renders that we haven't seen yet?

It certainly is taking them a long time! I do think something might be about to start though. I see they fenced more of the property, and put up one of those temporary washrooms on a trailer just a few days ago.

I'm curious when they're going to start on the emergency department.

This is not a mechanical level based on the photos. I believe they have another 7-8 floors to go before they start that.

I think they were doing a transfer slab pour on Saturday.
