This is basically the last missing link of double track between Kennedy and Unionville right? It doesn't even look like that big of a bridge, it's like it's been stalled for years.
Probably really early, but one thing I'm curious about, is where would this high speed rail station be built in Toronto? Would it necessarily be at Union? A place that is a little less central may be more suitable so they can build something better, but on the other hand I'm not sure what else...
Given that transponders are already required for trucks, they can just simply give them a discount or make it free like it's being suggested. That said I'm kind of curious how much impact this would result in traffic around the GTA just by giving trucks a free ride on the 407. Looks bad because...
So basically the government buys 50% of the 407, and then basically try to sabotage the business? That might not be a terrible idea given we meddle in all sorts of things already, then perhaps the value will tank, and it helps lower the price so they can take back the rest of the lease.
Lol... actually I only started working downtown in 2010, and I think those free papers ended maybe around 2014. I used to write in dumb stuff regularly and it was amusing to see it get printed.
The 407 station has a big bus terminal, but it'd still take like 45 mins to take the subway downtown from there. From Unionville GO to Union is around the same. Express trains will help a little, but these places you are describing are very far from downtown...
Yeah... won't settle for anything less than Cinnabon. I tried Cinnaholic one time, it was okay but as it's completely vegan that means it doesn't have cream cheese frosting.
I was just trying to find the express buses from Kennedy GO station, man in true TTC fashion not a single sign after going into the tunnel, I kinda guessed my way to where that temporary bus terminal was, which is where I heard that bus will be.
Also, is this a fare paid terminal outside? No...
I guess more so that it basically deactivates the physical card. But I think it'd be better if it was digital-only for you to register for a digital Presto card to begin with, instead of expecting someone to buy a physical Presto card, add it to your wallet, and your physical card is dead.
If...
Wow, this is downright a terrible implementation, lately I've just been paying with Google Pay with a credit card on the account for the last couple of months now, beats doing this plus you don't have to pay $6 for the Presto card to begin with.
I'd love to see them switch to EMUs, but wouldn't electric locomotives with shorter trains be an improvement in itself given that acceleration should be better, which is one of the biggest problems with the 12 car mammoths they usually run.
On the other hand, if the goal is to run shorter...
