you can check the urban Toronto map for nearby proposals - nothing is proposed yet on the plaza with the hmart at the moment, but I imagine that one day when the area is more filled in it would probably be developed into condos that will probably be taller than 22 stories
probably decent view there, neighbouring building is only 13 I believe - but there will probably be taller buildings built near this within the next 10 years
Mandarin closing Yonge and Eglinton restaurant after 35 years
Stated reason is that the lease isn't being renewed, have also heard that some tenants are being pushed to end their leases early
Pinnacle is a huge company which has built a lot of luxury residential and hotel projects in Toronto and Vancouver in their 40 years of existing, I am sure they have more than enough money to fully finance projects while holding back units to sell for larger profits at a later time
Pedestrianizing Clifton road and putting an LRT/streetcar along the red route posted above would immediately make the place much more tourist friendly. But I also would like to see more housing built and infill on parking lots to take the city out of its post-industrial decay look.
it would be worth the extra expense to bring this union, the government shouldn't look for ways to cheapen this, this is the most important transit corridor in this country that should have had HSR decades ago
I also just remembered - York's school of medicine is going to be built near the hospital - this makes a station at major mac very strategic for being near 3 major things: the hospital, york med school and wonderland. its a no brainer
The only way to permanently end line 1 extensions would be supporting an extension to make it a loop - both sides going up to major mac then under it with a stop in near Vaughn city hall would be the best way to do it
An extension to 16th won't be happening, and you can see why in the picture - There are several million dollars worth of BRT infastructure and stations already between Richmond Hill centre and 16th avenue which would be rendered redundant if the line extended to 16th - They didn`t continue that...
In September of this year the lawyers for the property sent a letter to the city reminding them not to override the site-specific permissions they already won at the OLT when the city updates city-wide zoning laws
