Starting an infrastructure thread for Destination Niagara's proposed Niagara River Line, which is described as a "automated electric tram".

The project is described as:
Niagara River Line Attraction: The proposed Niagara River Line is a fully accessible, all-season automated electric tram running 3.8 km through Queen Victoria Park. Its suspended capsules would give visitors unmatched views of Niagara Falls while connecting them to major attractions across the park. The project is expected to deliver significant economic benefits, generating an estimated $490 million in GDP and creating 3,800 jobs within its first eight years.
Additionally, the press release describes it as:
The government is also working on a potential new Niagara River Line attraction, which would be a fully accessible, all-season automated electric tram running 3.8 kilometres through Queen Victoria Park. Its suspended capsules would give visitors unmatched views of Niagara Falls while connecting them to major attractions across the area.

I posted on the broader presser/strategy in the Doug Ford thread. I'm still trying to making heads of tails of 'suspended capsules' and 'tram' which don't really go together in my mind.

I suspect that they're trying to say "aerial tramway"?

If this connected the GO Station to downtown that would be super super useful.

Nope, they mention it will through Queen Victoria Park, that's nowhere near the GO Station.

See Red pin on map:

An above-ground form of transport here would block views from the Skylon Tower and from the hotels with views of the Falls.

GO to Queen Victoria Park is 3km, the line is said to be 3.8km

I feel like it would be a massive missed opportunity if it doesn't connect to the GO

If you look at the detailed description in the Strategy (not very detailed, but I digress)

That does not sound like a connection to the GO Station.

With the proviso that I don't actually know the proposed route here, to me, it sounds like:

That is approx. 3.8km.

It sounds like it's purely an attraction rather than a transportation service, which is indeed a missed opportunity. No reason it couldn't be both.

I suspect that 3.8 km is a one-way loop. The route to the train station would be 6 km round trip.

My first instinct is that this is a sightseeing attraction that has more in common with the Centreville chairlift than real transportation. But 7.6 km could theoretically go from the GO station to Chippewa and connect to the main tourist areas.
