it might be mounting points for the facade finishes they want to install. This is what they have on the renders for the LSE joint corridorThis is very peculiar looking. Any idea what all those “boxes” are for?

No it’s not that - that section is already complete. The photo I commented on is where the station will actually be it just seems to be a really slow and arduous process to create these boxed in mounts. Hopefully constructions accelerates as there is no below ground tunnelling happening here yet these construction practices are taking longer than a dig would have taken in another country. Again hope the elevated stations are built and finished much faster than those that are underground since the complexity for on or above ground stations is far lower when building on or above ground….it might be mounting points for the facade finishes they want to install. Looks like Mx has abandoned this work site. Dammit, Riverside is going to be under construction right until the end aren’t we? I just wish they could priortize the impact on communities to help them get thru the mess and disruption when construction is this close to homes and businesses… East Harbour on the other hand or some of the other elevated stations could go slower given the vast open areas around them.
The LSE corridor early works contract is coming to a close. The contractor (Dufferin et al) has prepped the site for handoff and soon the next contract will be executed (stations & guideway).Looks like Mx has abandoned this work site.
One hell of an overstatement. This is arguably the closest station to completion, it has the least remaining concrete to pour.Dammit, Riverside is going to be under construction right until the end aren’t we?
The current impact is one less lane each way, where cars are usually parked. Sorry you can’t overtake the streetcar here anymore!I just wish they could priortize the impact on communities to help them get thru the mess and disruption when construction is this close to homes and businesses… East Harbour on the other hand or some of the other elevated stations could go slower given the vast open areas around them.
You obviously don’t live here so zip it. Nobody asked you and with zero sign of ANY presence or ANY update from Mx I am sorry if my assumption is that it’s going to sit there for a while longer. There is literally NO workers or sign of any progress. I hope I’m wrong, but thanks for defending years and years of mess in MY community. The LSE corridor early works contract is coming to a close. That handoff may or may not occur before the remaining fill + retaining walls go in, between Eastern and Gerrard. Those gaps may remain for construction vehicle access.
