So - I like trains. This afternoon at the Bathurst yard, all seven tracks were occupied with GO Trains.

But they've since walked back that plan with the building of the station between Queen and King.
I thought the new Liberty station between King and Queen (Sudbury and Dufferin) was in addition to Front/Spadina(Bathurst?). But I can't keep track of SlowTrack and all of the changes.

Seems like the GO fleet has managed to paint most of the carriages and engines to the modern livery. Or is this just a random one off?

Liberty Village is a different station. The one at The Well could still happen, likely in conjunction with whatever decking proposal eventually comes to fruition.
As far as Metrolinx is concerned, the one at Spadina/across from The Well is off of the books.

That doesn't mean that other groups couldn't push for its construction. But they won't be getting any help from Metrolinx, at least not for the foreseeable future.

That's odd considering the Spadina/Front station has a lot of potential to reduce crowding at Union, which would increase its throughput. But I guess if Mx is scaling back their GO Expansion plans then the capacity at Union would be less of a concern to them than when they were actually trying to achieve DB's proposed service levels.

I don't think that's really what they're thinking.

The expectation is that the offloading of capacity onto the Ontario Line is significant enough to push off a lot of the more drastic measures - such as that station at Spadina for just the Barrie trains - that were going to be required to improve flows through Union. And the stop at Liberty Village, although they have refused to acknowledge it, will also do some of the same, too.

Now, is the reality going to meet their expectations? To be honest my gut feeling is "no" based on how poorly overwrought the projections were/are for the Ontario Line. But hey, I will gladly eat my hat if I'm wrong on that.

Spadina and Wellington? I don't see them building another tunnel anytime soon. Also there's surface transport there except Spadina, which isn't as useful for GO passengers heading to work.

Bathurst and Front isn't particularly much more useful either. King/Atlantic is where they need a station.

I'm talking about the station at The Well. Spadina and Front

Are you able to say other stuff that could’ve been scaled back relating to Union? More specifically platform related stuff
Nothing has been scaled back recently. What you see now has been the plan for the last little bit.

If you go back further, with the resignalling and the double-berthing of trains, there were very few changes projected for the platforms other than building more vertical accesses.

wondering when or IF they will ever get to repainting the locos up to the current livery or will they drag it so far that they are either retired as is or another livery pops up.... 😒
