I can think of a good spot on Upton rd. for thatThe next thing they need to approve is a TTC museum.

I was just thinking that. I don't think it did very well so the TTC switched to online only.My memory is fuzzy here, but was there not a physical store selling merch on the concourse level of Union subway station for several years, maybe starting in 2008 or so?
Maybe it closed down for the station renovation and they never brought it back? But I definitely remember there used to be something there where you could buy a variety of TTC branded stuff like mugs, or t-shirts with the subway map on them, etc. and maybe some other City of Toronto branded items.
Also I recall it was kind of sad looking and slapped together with cardboard signs, etc.
Oh I found it did exist.I was just thinking that. I don't think it did very well so the TTC switched to online only.
I think the main problem with it is that it's a very niche market with primarily transit enthusiasts who would want to buy transit merchandise. The location where it was is now the information both/ central location for calls from the help stations located on the platform where the DWA's were for line 1 all calls go to the one at Union and for line 2 all the calls go to the one at Kipling.Oh I found it did exist.
It was given the very creative name of "TTC Transit Stuff"

I bought a really bad t-shirt from here in 2007 and the graphic started peeling within weeks.Oh I found it did exist.
It was given the very creative name of "TTC Transit Stuff", though the merchandise and operations were fully outsourced to some third party.
The TTC didn't have any direct involvement other than collecting the royalties.
It looks like it shutdown in late 2010 or early 2011.

Old City Hall. And put a streetcar track into the side of the building!!I can think of a good spot on Upton rd. for that![]()
Then it makes sense to send the OL there rather than a streetcar!Old City Hall. And put a streetcar track into the side of the building!!
Heck, put the Science Centre in there too.
On a similar topic I do hope the new subway trains for Line 2 and the OL will have displays showing where each car is relative to the exits on the platforms. This has probably been brought up before on the forum and hopefully at the TTC as well.Google Maps Boarding locations for faster transfers and exits on Line 1 and 2, you won't always get a recommendation.

I highly, highly doubt that will ever become a thing here.On a similar topic I do hope the new subway trains for Line 2 and the OL will have displays showing where each car is relative to the exits on the platforms. Do other transit systems do this? Are you able to share any photos/videos as examples? On a similar topic I do hope the new subway trains for Line 2 and the OL will have displays showing where each car is relative to the exits on the platforms. What's the difference between a wheelchair elevator (deep yellow) and a regular elevator (emerald)?
Very cool. Thanks!View attachment 661645

I'll try google maps tonight for TTC but Gaode/A Map for China would give recommendations on car, platform exit, and station exit for trips, transferring or otherwise.
Sorry, they're just different systems. Hangzhou above and Harbin below. Elevators are functionally the same. What's the difference between a wheelchair elevator (deep yellow) and a regular elevator (emerald)?
