Chinatown

A few pix from Baldwin and D’Arcy. Anyone want to make a bet when the first retail space will popup on D’Arcy? It is coming within a year.

Just a little observation. There are a bunch of independent coffee shops opening along Spadina between Queen and College which is an indication of things to come. Just sayin’! Lol
Finally giving me more of a reason to go there!

Hopefully they are cozy cafes opened past 6 pm. I'm not a fan of these modern airport lounge looking grab and go style cafes that have opened in last few years. I like to sit and relax and enjoy my latte in a ceramic cup.
Yes, I totally agree! Sometimes I want a coffee in the later afternoon (5 or 6 pm) to give myself an energy boost for the rest of the evening, but so many cozy indie cafes are already closed by that time. It's very frustrating (and no, Tim Horton's doesn't count). In Europe you see cafes packed with people sipping coffee even at night - why is it only a morning thing here??

I'm really surprised that this intersection in particular hasn't seen any large scale redevelopment. It's felt ripe for many years. This is definitely a spot where I'd have expected a dramatic transformation like Dundas and Jarvis by now...
